Posted on September 10, 2010
Hi, I'm female and I feel like I often have bad breath even though I brush my teeth often and use mouthwash, esspecialy in the morning. Is there something I can do for my body that will help prevent this?

Have your teeth cleaned regularly by a dentist or hygienist, and floss twice a day. If you are using a mouthwash that contains alcohol, stop. Alcohol dries out the mouth and a dry mouth causes bad breath. And don’t forget to brush your tongue every time you brush your teeth.
If this doesn’t help, it may be something in your diet, and you will have to consult your medical doctor.

2 things that you should do immediately here, first is to when you brush your teeth in the morning, also clean your tongue. The tongue can house a lot of bacteria that gives you bad breathe, so you can buy a tongue cleaner that does the trick or brush hard on your tongue with your tooth brush. Next, use mouthwash, 30 secs gargle. You can also try buying toothpaste with scope in it, that will help with the breath also.

Hi Ash…
Waking up with bad breath its very normal. However if its constant during the day, I would look into my diet and digestion.
If you are regular (twice a day) and you eat healthy, you should be at a normal level.
If you brush often and use mouthwash, then the odor comes from further inside.

Immediately cut down on sweets, sweet drinks and bakery goods to protect the teeth and gums and reduce plaque formation.
The usual suspects; alcohol, tobacco, onion, garlic and curry should be immediately put behind bars.
Cheese and spicy deli meats are best avoided.
Rinsing your mouth out often and, swishing and swallowing after the meals, also rid you of the potentially offending foods.
While there are plenty of short-term products such as gums and fresheners on the market, most do not last more than a couple of hours and tend to only mask the bad breath rather than address underlying causes.
For this reason, many people are now turning to natural herbal and homeopathic ingredients such as Kali. Phos, Silica and Sweet Fennel to successfully help them with halitosis. Kali. Phos is well known for its antiseptic and cleansing properties and is effective at addressing putrefactive conditions such as halitosis, foul smelling flatulence and stools.
Silica works by cleansing the cells of toxins and ridding the body of bad odors, while addressing some of the underlying causes of bad breath such as gum disease, sinus infections and mouth abscess. Lastly, sweet fennel has a long history of use for treating digestion problems and is a popular aid to sweeten the breath.
