Cavaties? How many is to many?

My daughters mom is not taking very good care of her. You can see the plaque on her teeth and rotting. She went to the dentist and had 7 cavities is that to many? I am wondering if this is an issue to bring up to the guardian at leitem along with a few other of my concerns?
She is only four. She does great at my house. She flosses and uses mouth wash. It's the weekdays I am worried about

The previous answer is nonsense. Dentists do not cause cavities. Of course, one dentist might find cavities that another one overlooked. Or, one dentist might decide that a particular cavity is too small to bother to fill, while another one might decide to do the filling. But the dentist doesn’t make the cavity. Tooth decay makes the cavity.
Now, about your daughter. I think that seven cavities is a lot in a 4 year old. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that she is getting inadequate care from her mother. (If anything, it might mean she is getting too many sweets to eat.) I would mention it to the guardian at litem, but bring it up in the context of having the guardian ad litem monitor her medical and dental check-up records. How often is your daughter being seen for well-care visits to the doctor and dental examinations? The number of cavities does not prove anything, but the overall medical records might.

It’s hard to say. Sometimes the dentist can cause the cavities, along with poor maintenance of the teeth. I had no cavities, and within 6 months of changing dentists, had 5 cavities. So it can depend on the dentist and care taker of the child. Perhaps you need to instill better hygiene on your daughter’s part- that way you don’t have to worry about her mother not being very responsible.

You’re free to raise any issues you want. I looked up what Guardian ad Leitem is, and the reasons for having one are usually very serious. If it were me, regarding a young child, I would call plaque on teeth and rotting neglect. To me, not being a professional and completely ignorant of this whole situtation, I would consider 7 cavities in one, regularly scheduled visit very unusual.
