Enamel Shaping Good Idea or not?

I have a few minor chips on my front teeth from getting smacked in the face with a football. I want to know if enamel (tooth) shaping is a good way to get rid of chips. I also want to know if there are any complications that can come up in the future from doing this. Is this a good way to rid of chipped teeth? Thanks for any info!!!

if you mean by chips on the edge of the teeth, and you are willing to have them smoothed down to have an even edge,then it can be safe procedure, this procedure is called tooth recontouring and reshaping. Otherwise shaving away your enamel over the front side of the teeth can definetely be harmful to you in the future, and can cause sensitivity.
