How can I cure my bad breath?

Posted on August 14, 2010

I don't see where this is coming from. I brush my teeth regularly with that Crest with Scope toothpaste stuff, and I floss and use a fluoride mouthwash. My dentist says my mouth and teeth are really healthy, and I don't eat spicy/smelly foods. I don't smoke and I'm not sick. Mints only help for about 10 minutes, and I can't chew gum because I have braces. How can I cure this? Should I start eating differently, or drinking more water? Does it have something to do with my braces? help!

  1. that issue you are mentioning is a chronic bad breath & all of those thing’s that you are doing can’t actually help, they can only help temporary. at the same time as you said, the bad breath keep on coming back…
i used to have the same problem myself…
i tried all cind of things, mouth wash, mints tongue scraper… you name it…

the excellent news is that there is a cure & it’s in fact all natural plus very quick.

  2. Do you brush your tongue? I used to have bad breath because I always forgot to brush my tongue, it should be pink (it shouldn’t have a whitish or yellowish look on it).

  3. i wear braces too and I used to have bad breath all the time even though i brushed and flossed regularly. my dentist saw nothing wrong with my teeth and gums then i went to see a doctor. it turned out i had an ear infection! the mucus from my ear trickled down the back of my throat which caused my breath to smell. pretty disgusting! maybe you have some kind of infection you’re not aware of?

  4. You should be brushing after every meal, roughly three times per day for at least two minutes at a time. Toothpaste that has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) can actually help CAUSE bad breath and canker sores. You should be using floss after every meal, and use mouthwash and a tongue scraper at least twice each day. Pay attention to what kinds of foods that you are eating. Also, do you have problems with dry mouth? Dry mouth and post nasal drip can cause bad breath, so keep hydrated and try nasal spray/drops. Also, asthmatic problems cause bad breath. Are you having breathing problems? Have regular dental checkups (roughly once every six months) to ensure that you do not have cavities or gum disease. Also, you should go to the doctor if it is a concern for you, since underlying health conditions like diabetes can cause bad breath. If you cannot afford the doctor/dentist, there may be a local charity that will provide free service to you.

You might want to avoid gum and mints that contain sugar because sugar actually FEEDS the bad breath-causing bacteria!

You can also try natural cures such as baking soda, green cardamom, parsley/mint garnishes, brussel sprouts, and green tea. These help deodorize the halitosis
