How did natives keep their teeth healthy?

Posted on August 19, 2010

Back when nomads and indians and hunter-gatherers and people of simpler times without toothbrushes or toothpastes of todays world existed, they managed to keep all their pearly whites inside their mouths full through to their antiquity. How did they do it?

  1. Today’s dental cavities are caused by REFINED sugars, and the bacteria that use them for their own metabolism. Way back when, these refined sugars did not exist, so the extent of decay was not as bad as it is today. However, decay still occurred. Even very early man, had their own versions of toothbrushes.

  2. nATIVES ATE FRESH FRUITS AND VEGGIES OFF THE PLANTS…………..they ate sugarcanes which help tp clean the teeth………..they ate less of processed and fried foods ,maybe?

  3. Their teeth weren’t exactly pearly white but it did help that they didn’t eat a bunch of sugary stuff.

  4. well, the foods they ate were pure, and non-processed. so, they didnt eat all of the sugars that we eat it the modern world.
