how does flossing help joint pain?

i was recently told that flossing your teeth could help reduce joint pain and inflammation so i looked it up and webmd says so but it doesnt explain why. can someone explain it for me how it works? or help me find a good site that does? thanks

  1. Flossing cleans out the germs that live in your mouth. These germs can get into the bloodstream and cause problems and inflamation all over the body, including the joints. So if you brush and floss, you reduce the amount of these germs you have in your body, and the germs won’t be plentiful enough to migrate and cause joint problems.
