Utterly useless explanation. If you have type II or more periodontal disease, you may be a candidate for scaling and root planing (which is “deep cleaning”) If your dentist or hygenist will not speak in clinical terms, and explain the meaning of the terms, find another dental health care provider. @baikpunyetiub Normal brushing does not address in detail the cleaning of the mouth unlike the dentist winch look inside the mouth for areas that are not reachable by the brush. Deep cleaning in inside your gum pockets not in outside.

I had a deep clean done once. It was done via laser. It didn’t hurt at all, and I wasn’t numbed or anything.
