I am getting my braces off in 4 days and have some questions.?
I am getting my braces off in 4 days ( Friday, June 11th.) I want to know what it is like getting them off. What they do, is it painful, does it taste bad and what is it like afterwords. I really am excited I have had braces for about 18 months and have a lot of questions.
First of all I am afraid my teeth will NOT be white.
I never really took care of my teeth. Never brushed twice a day, only flossed when I needed to and so on. So once I got my braces on I started brushing a lot, flossing using mouth wash, fluoride etc.I never got complaints about needing to brush better ( unlike a lot of other people I have sen at the orthodontist office). On the walls they have posters of white spots on teeth from not brushing enough. Supposedly your teeth r white to start they but the brackets on u stop brushing,your teeth start to yellow. And when you go to get them off they have white spots from where the bracket was. I am afraid I will have the opposite effect. My teeth will be white with yellow center spots. Any ideas. I really want nice straight white teeth.
Do u have any recommendations for toothpastes for whiter teeth. What should I do once I get my braces off. And once they are off can I use whitening strips.
I just got my braces off I love my teeth they are straight and white. But I am really scared. I am not getting my retainer for 2 weeks. How much will my teeth move. I don't want my teeth 2 move.

I got my braces off last year!! :D it didnt hurt at all. Except it was sore for a few days when i started wearing my retainer. They like get this grippy thing and kind of clip the brackets off your teeth. Its hard to explain. Then the orthodontist has to polish of the glue that remains on your teeth. I had no white or yellow spots. I only did the minimum while i had my braces. I brushed 3 times a day and i didnt floss. I had my braces for 3 years like! I think you only get those spots when you eat and drink foods with alot of colourings like coke and coffee. You wont be able to stop smiling when your braces come off! Its an amazing feeling!
