I have a small white lump on my gums, is it gingivitis?

Posted on July 30, 2010

I started feeling it about a week ago. I only just looked at it today and it is a whitish lump accompanied by a few small dots next to it on my upper gum. I brush my gums a lot but this formed somehow. Is it gum disease? Should I see a dentist before it gets worse?
I'm only 15 years old and haven't even kissed anyone before. ITS NOT HERPES

  1. Gingivitis is inflammation of gums. Your gums will get reddish not white and not with lumps. It would also have to bleed when you brush it.

I always go to my dentist every month and I had white thing stuck on the top of my gum that I can’t remove that seems to be a lump, the dentist had to remove it. she said it’s just accumulated stain that hardened.

The best thing to do is to go to a dentist and let it check as soon as possible. As a nurse, base on my experience, when something is bothering you, especially about health, you should let someone check it right away. The earlier treatment, the better.

  2. It’s herpes the gift that keeps on giving.

  3. Sometimes it is the wisdom teeth or bone shape of the jaw stretching out.
