I have Sensodyne ProNamel tooth paste Does it work as well as normal tooth paste? The dentist gave it to me to strengthen my enamel. Will it work as well as other tooth paste at preventing cavities and bacteria prevention?

  1. Although toothpaste does contain abrasive (rough specks to help remove plaque), toothpaste is mainly just a breath freshener. You prevent cavities and remove bacteria with the manual application of the toothbrush. This means that brushing is what removes the plaque, not the toothpaste. Sensodyne ProNamel will work just as well as "normal toothpaste" since toothpaste is actually not even necessary to brush your teeth at all. Speaking of toothpaste and brushing though, flossing is the only way to remove bacteria between the teeth and up into the sulcus (space between gums and teeth). Be sure to floss daily also.

  2. Hello there,

My mom works in a dental office. I asked her if it’s true. If the product works. She said no. It’s false advertisement. If it does work then her dental office would tell their patients to use it. My mom was the dental manager for Alberta and none of the dentists recommend it. Just saying.

    It doesn’t work.
