Is Gingivitis painful?

Posted on September 7, 2010

my gums have purplish color to it, and im dead scared. I do have a ton of plaque around my teeth, and i understand that this causes gingivitis, which i think im seeing early symptoms of. I'm 16, does age count for this process? Either way, i've been brushing my teeth like crazy recently, using listerine, and i've also been using a small pick to take out some of the plaque, i see on the roots of my teeth, is gingivitis painful?

  1. no its not painful till you dont touch the gums.
although the pain is very dull but the gums bleed often.
you have to get scaling done to stop your gum disease.
