Yeah, don’t brush too hard or too often because it also wears down your gums…. I’m not sure about enamel though. I know your teeth are really strong.. Just not your gums.
What I do know is that you shouldn’t chew ice because that actually damages your teeth.
My mom used to brush really hard and her gums kinda resided more above her teeth so more of her tooth shows because she damaged some of her gums away.
Brush lightly if you must brush that much. I’d make sure to floss, that’s one of the main things.
For toothpaste, I’d just use colgate. It has a nice taste and smell and has been my old reliable since forever. I’ve tried Aquafresh but it just doesn’t seem as good.

Brushing can damage enamel. Using a hard bristle brush is damaging as well as brushing too hard. Brushing too often can alter the normal (good) bacteria in your mouth. How much are you brushing & why?

You can get dental "errosion" from brushing to hard or frequently, you can actually cause a groove in the teeth.
It’s actually faily common among people who work in the field as hygiensits. They subconsiously brush extra hard after seeing bad teeth all day.
Also the gums can get inflammed and have problems too. Talk to your dentist for guidelines for your specific case.
Generally 2 x a day is fine, 2 minutes per session with a pea sized amount of paste. Don’t rinse or drink anything for 30 minutes, to allow the floride to work.
