Does putting toothpaste on a pimple over night really help?

Posted on May 18, 2011

Everyone says that if you put toothpaste on a pimple that it will reduce the size and redness. Does it really work? I want to know by someone who has tried it before. And does it matter what brand of toothpaste I use if I do it?

What to do about back pain from playing golf.?

Posted on May 18, 2011

I'm quite physically capable, but I've always had lower back pain from doing tasks like working on a car engine (bending over with my head under the bonnet for hours at a time) and playing golf. It seems to be related to muscle inflamation. Is this something that will go away with enough training or am I damaging my back.
(edit) I'm 38 but it seems my back has been like this for at least 10 years.

Is your perception of yourself in the mirror or in photographs more accurate?

Posted on May 18, 2011

When I look in the mirror, I think I'm above average looking. Ok, I actually fit the typical description of ugly: long face, crooked teeth, a bit of acne, and non-existent breasts, but somehow I still think I look good as long as I keep my mouth closed. Yet when I look at my photos I look at best very plain but more likely just plain ugly, even when not smiling. In pictures my eyes are tiny or droopy, my nose is flatter than what I see in the mirror, and my face is even longer and thinner. I also look physically dumpy, while in the same outfit I look ok in the mirror. (I'm 5'8", 34-28-38, 128 lbs, but the hips may be less than 38 now.)

I know that what I see in the mirror is a mirror image and not what other people really see. So which image is usually more accurate? Am I just not photogenic, or ugly with an extremely skewed perception of my mirror image? My candids are just as bad as my posed pictures. I've taken pictures of my face from all angles, and all are bad.
Yes, I know it's shallow to be overly concerned with appearance, and personality is more important, etc., but I'm a shallow person.Right now I'm more concerned about physical looks than what's inside.
Actually, I'm not a teenager. I'm in my 20s, and I've been dissatisfied with my pictures for most of my life.

Does baking soda really make your teeth whiter?

Posted on May 18, 2011

I heard mixing Hydrogen Peroxide and baking soda then brushing with it really whitens your teeth. Is that true?
If so, How many times do you have to do it? How often? Is it really worth it since you have to taste it? How long do the results last?

I've tried whitening strips, But they make my teeth hurt for some reason.
What's a good whitening toothpaste/rinse? One that you've personally tried. ALL tooth pastes claim to whiten, But really they just brush the plaque off for a few hours.

How can I eliminate back pain?

Posted on May 18, 2011

I've gained some weight. Now I have lower back pain. I know I need to get back in shape, but in the meantime, can anyone make any suggestions on how to elivate the back pain? There's pain sometimes from just standing. I would really appreciate helpful answers....thank you.
