Having trouble with family pact health access card…?
I got this through my college, and I've had it for about 3 years now. I tried to get a refill on my prescription and it says that I am no longer insured, nobody at my schools health center said anything about renewing it, so I had to pay for my prescription myself. How do I renew the card? The card doesn't show a number to call, so I'm a bit lost in solving this issue.
What is the campus health center talking about?
Okay, here's the deal. I've been taking Depo shots for the past 9 months (or more) with a prescription from my Family Physician. I also go to an OBGYN and have gotten pap-smears from him for the past 3 years. I'm in my first year at college and am due for my shot on October 14th. I went to the campus health facility to make an appointment for my shot and the receptionist told me that they needed record of my pap smear in order to give me the shot. I had my OBGYN fax over my records of the last pap smear (which was less than a year ago; will be a year at the end of the month). The nurses said my records were outdated and that I need to get another pap smear before I get my shot. This would make sense, but they scheduled my pap smear and my shot for the same day. This means that the results of my pap smear have nothing to do with whether or not I can get my shot because you obviously have to wait for the pap results. My question is what does my pap smear have to do with getting my Depo shot? The major problem with this is that my OBGYN is over 4 hours away and there is no way I can get there or get an appointment by then, and my mother wants to keep me with the same Gynecologist. Is there a valid reason for the health center to request the pap smear?
How long can you live with undiagnosed diabetes?
Ive had some of the symptoms of diabetes for a couple of years now but since the begging of the year they have gotten worse and new symptoms have appeared. Most people have told me this is down to stress (which could be correct as it has been a stressful time) Also for about 2 or 3 years I didnt eat lunch and would just snack chocolate and sweets.I am also underweight.
Piercings and removal of wisdom teeth…?
I'm getting my wisdom teeth taken out in a week. When I went for my consultation, I had to take out my piercings for the x-rays. The only piercings of mine that I'm concerned about are my tongue, industrial, and lower cartilage piercings. I haven't been able to unscrew the ball yet on my industrial (though I've had it for almost 2 years), so I couldn't take it out for the x-ray, but it was alright. I put my lower cartilage piercing back in as soon as I could, but not my tongue because my mom was with me and she definitely wouldn't approve of it (Haa, I know). Anyway, it was out for about an hour and I had to work with it for a few minutes to get it back in. To my understanding, I need to take out all my piercings for the procedure of removing my wisdom teeth, even earrings in my lobes, and nose. Personally, the only two that seem to make sense to take out is my tongue and vertical labret since that's the area that will be worked upon, but I'm assuming that the metal may conflict with some equipment used? Anyway, I'm just wondering how long it would take for my industrial and tongue to actually close up? I'm not worried about me being physically capable of getting any other piercings back in right away other than my tongue, since I know I'm going to be pretty out of it afterwords. I guess the surgery is about 45 minutes to an hour... and I'm just really worried about my piercings closing up. :/
I've had my:
Industrial- Almost 2 years
Tongue- 3 months
Lower cartilage- Year and a half
Vertical Labret- Almost 2 years
Nose- 3 years
Lobes- Not worried about those closing up

Lower back pain with lump what could this be?
I have bad lower back pain that started years ago. About 3 years ago I found a small lump that is under my skin. You can't see it but if you touch my lower back you can feel it. It also moves around a little bit. If you have any idea what this may be then please help.
are my teeth REALLY bad? crooked, i know, pics?
ok well im really self conciouse about my teeth, and i have a reason to, they are very crooked and just so ugly! its like id think id have more confidence with my looks if i didnt have such bad teeth, and its like im in high school, so i dont want to have braces all four years, i was wondering if there are any ways to just correct the ones that are really crooked with like surgery or lumineers or something, and then get braces to just straiten the rest out.
here are some pics, and all i want is advice on what i can do to just fix and straighten them out.
i hate them, and i just feel like i can be so much prettier if they were better, and going my whole life with them, just scares me. ;/
please tell me if you think they are bad or really bad, i am my own worst critic so ill handle what ever you guys can say.
also, would you like a girl whose teeth were like this?
i live in illinois. ;/
the one that looks like pointed or missing, its just REALLY crooked, like the side is only there and the rest is hidden, which is why im saying they are really crooked.
im 14..
so i have 3 years until looks matter?
great.
im not sure my parents can afford braces, because i would have already had them. idk,
people are basically yelling at me about braaces.
i never said i didnt want them, so using the terms, "suck it up about braces" or would you rather suffer" doesnt make much sense to me..
thanks to all who are answering, though some i could have done without the rudenss.
no duh i have big ears..
i like them, so if youre trying to put me down, nice try hun ;]
Why after you get your braces off and you get retainers do the orthodontists say "congratulations"?
The madness doesn't end after you get your braces off, you still have to wear those stupid retainers for the next 2-3 years and still get checkups just like you had your braces on. To me, it's just like having on your braces all over again except for the fact that you don't have to wear them all of the time and you can remove your retainers from your teeth at a certain time and not only that, you also have to keep up with those retainers. Stop me if i'm wrong but, it's good that they say congratulations that people can see your pearly whites but not when you still have metal in your mouth.
Get teeth pulled to get dentures?
Hey everybody has anyone ever had fully functional non problematic teeth to get dentures? Wondering because I don't like 2 teeth of mines and want to get rid of them. I'm 16 years old and the dentist today told me that it would take 3 years with braces and them 2-3 years of retainers I personally don't want that so what I was talking to my parents about is, I sell some guitar gear that I don't want or need and when I go to Mexico next week go to dentist and get my teeth pulled then get some partial dentures. I personally don't want to get braces since I play sports a lot and boxing so I usually get hit in the face I don't want to give that up so... Opinions?
Is there a surgery for type 2 diabetes to temporarily stop the need of insulin?
I know there is a procedure available for type 1 diabetes that works for 2-3 years (animal transplant that eventually gets rejected by the human immune system) but does it work with type 2 diabetes?

How do I lose weight with juvenile diabetes?
I'm 14 years old and I've had juvenile diabetes (otherwise known as type 1 diabetes) for about 3 years. I'm 5'8 and 160 lbs (please no rude comments about my weight.) Would you consider that to be really overweight? If so, how can I exersise without hitting so many low blood sugars? It would kind of defeat the purpose, exersising then drinking juice to get my energy back up. Thanks!
