Is there a painless way to test blood in diabetes?
My nephew who's only 9 months old developed Type 1 diabetes. My cousin checks his blood with glucometer using test strips, but because of the pain it causes the kid became very nervous and starts crying everytime his mom approaches him. I was wondering if anybody knows about alternative ways to test blood, that are not as painful and that are suitable for a kid his age. Thank you.
What is the campus health center talking about?
Okay, here's the deal. I've been taking Depo shots for the past 9 months (or more) with a prescription from my Family Physician. I also go to an OBGYN and have gotten pap-smears from him for the past 3 years. I'm in my first year at college and am due for my shot on October 14th. I went to the campus health facility to make an appointment for my shot and the receptionist told me that they needed record of my pap smear in order to give me the shot. I had my OBGYN fax over my records of the last pap smear (which was less than a year ago; will be a year at the end of the month). The nurses said my records were outdated and that I need to get another pap smear before I get my shot. This would make sense, but they scheduled my pap smear and my shot for the same day. This means that the results of my pap smear have nothing to do with whether or not I can get my shot because you obviously have to wait for the pap results. My question is what does my pap smear have to do with getting my Depo shot? The major problem with this is that my OBGYN is over 4 hours away and there is no way I can get there or get an appointment by then, and my mother wants to keep me with the same Gynecologist. Is there a valid reason for the health center to request the pap smear?
I have had lower back pain (right above my backside) ever since I had my son. What can help?
I was told I had "back labor". One doctor said it was sciatica and another posterior pelvic pain. All I know for sure is that my son is 19 months old and I still am in pain... The pain gets worse after a day of lifting my son over and over again. Anyone else had this problem? If so, what helped you? Thank you!
This problem did not develop until I was 9 months along... I did not suffer from back pain before that.
Something that actually cures canker sores?
I have had canker sores since early January of this year. The only thing that has given me any relief and temporarily "cure" the canker sores has been some form of oral steroids. It has been almost 9 months now and I desperately want to get rid of these permanently.
-On a side note I am well aware of what people have said "brings them on." However, I am far from stressed, and have been using the same toothpaste forever with no problems before January.
If anyone has had canker sores that reoccur and has been helped or anyone that knows of anything that can help me out please respond to this post.
Thanks in advance guys!!!
Will I gain any health benefits just going to the gym once in awhile?
I used to have a good gym routine 5 days a week, now I don't. I quit going like 9 months ago. But today, I feel like going, and I highly doubt I'll feel like going any other time other than now. Will I gain any health benefits by just going today? It's a dumb question I know.
How long do the results from professional teeth whitening last?
I am getting my braces off during April break after 3 years, and my teeth have always been yellow-ish. My mom said I could have my teeth whitened professionally once because its expensive. i have heard it lasts 6-9 months but I was wondering if that applies to me because i don't drink any coffee or tea and i don't smoke.
i plan on using crest whitestrips afterwards to keep them white.
I think i have Gingivitis…?
i have not brushed in about 9 months because i have never had a cavity with non regular brushing (maybe 2 or 3 times a week all through teen age). today i figured it wouldn't hurt, and when i was done everything was pink. the first spit, the rinse... it is not extremely advance, but i was wondering if regular brushing will cure it or if i need something else
Thank you Miss Obvious, I realize that now.
