I think i have Gingivitis…?
i have not brushed in about 9 months because i have never had a cavity with non regular brushing (maybe 2 or 3 times a week all through teen age). today i figured it wouldn't hurt, and when i was done everything was pink. the first spit, the rinse... it is not extremely advance, but i was wondering if regular brushing will cure it or if i need something else
Thank you Miss Obvious, I realize that now.
Painful Canker Sores All The Time?

my 9 month old w/8 teeth wont let me brush them!!?
my little guy started teething at 3 months, at 9 months he has 8 teeth. im sure they are a bit sensitive, but he wont let me brush them.. at first he liked it, and we started out slow when the first one came in.. letting him do it too. it was going well. we bought two brushes, one for him to hold and one for us to brush with..now that we have more area to brush, he refuses it near him.. we try with just water, we try with training toothpaste.. he has 8 teeth, thats alot for a baby, he doesn't understand what we're doing, but i can't afford to slowly break it in any longer, i can see the plaque build up.. i end up breaking down and pinning him in my lap and gently rubbing off the plaque with a wash rag..i feel like its traumatizing him to do this and he'll never warm up to the brush.. any suggestions? just wait it out?? keep traumatizing him?? i know when he's a toddler he'll enjoy doing it with mommy and daddy, but right now i just need him to open his mouth and let me do it!
.. and bonzai, i am in control of my child, thanks. i understand the importance of teeth brushing, however a 9 month old with soar gums and no understanding of whats going on can only be expected to react. traumatizing will surely not turn it into a "mellow" situation..and thats exactly it, he's a BABY, and a baby with sensitive gums. how would you like to be pinned down twice a day while you have holes in your mouth? im fully in control, and looking for ideas, not to be told how to parent.
Kitty teeth care…?
I have two cats, 9 months old and I was trying to figure out the best way to keep up with their teeth. I found this product in a DrsFoster&Smith magazine. You put one tablespoon into a bowl of the cats water, it's supposed to be odorless, and tasteless, but I feel a little uneasy just putting something for plaque removal in their water for them to drink. Has anyone tried this stuff before? How well does it work? Any other suggestions on teeth care?
My parents won't take me to the dentist and I have cavities and toothaches :(?
My family is really poor with no stable income. We live in a nice place and I go to a good school but the cost of living is so high... and my brother just got a severe concussion and has had to go to a lot of doctor's appointments and now neurological and psychiatric tests. My mom has really bad health problems like Raynaud's Syndrome and 3 displaced disks in her spinal cord and we all have dental problems. My brother's are more advanced apparently but I went to the dentist about 5 months ago and was told I had a cavity. But about 9 months ago I stopped drinking the fluoridated tap water and have not taken care of my teeth well, and now from what I can tell I have four cavities. I used a mirror and saw the black spots on my teeth, one is really big and apparent on my bottom molar. I'm having painful toothaches in two top teeth but my mom keeps saying "we have a lot of other things to deal with and we all have dental problems". So I can't go. I have health insurance. I'm worried about my teeth and my health and my brother's; I've heard how important oral health is. I never took care of my teeth well as a child but didn't get cavities, but my teeth still aren't white or straight. I'm not a pretty girl or extremely healthy so I don't want my teeth to decay any more :(
Please help, what can I do? I've talked to both parents and they just told me how we have to pay the bills first and whatnot. How can I get them to take my brother and me or is there any way I can give myself fillings? Advice?
