Posted on December 26, 2010

Okay so, when it comes to brushing and flossing....i do it. I mean i don't take the "3 to 5 minute time limit" to do this, cause ever since i was little i've always brushed for the same amount of time. A little under a minute. And yes, when i was little i never flossed but when i turned 12 and went to the dentist for the FIRST TIME..Yes I Know....I started really taking care of my teeth.* Mom where were you?* But i Digress, So this gingivitis thing has had it's come arounds but my dentis never sai d a thing about it..they just say. take better care of your teeth. blah blah balh..yeah i know the drill..and THAT drill too!! Lol. But jokes aside, I don't wanna lose my precious half adult, half baby teeth so i ask of you...can this gingivitis "thing" stop by me taking MORE better care of my teeth and my oral diet..if that makes sense* or do i have to go to the doctor and let them handle it. Cus really yall that speck of blood on my floss...GOT TO GO!!!!! :)

Can anyone give me some information on cavities?

Posted on December 19, 2010

Okay, so I have never had a cavity in my whole life. I'm almost 21. I went to a new dentist today, and they told me I have five. I went to another dentist for sometime but they had two appointments mix ups, and called to cancel and reschedule them on me all the time. I got fed up and stopped making one, so it has been a year and two months since I got a cleaning.
I don't know how I could have five cavities in that amount of time especially when I haven't had any in my whole life. I also feel like I'd be in pain. I don't have any, at all. I have one sensitive tooth, but that's not one where the cavities are.
My mom thinks they are just trying to get money from me, 'cause the second I got in there they were trying to get me to buy fluoride rinses, and teeth whitening. Then they said that it would cost ,852 to get them all filled, my insurance would pay ,500 of it. Then I told them, well I can't afford that right now, and they were trying to get me to get a dental credit type card with them. I said I couldn't make any decisions right now, and she was like "well why don't I make you an appointment for January and you can call if you don't have the money?" I told her no, and she was still trying to push the credit on me.
My mom said fillings shouldn't cost that much. It would mean they would cost over 0 each, I looked it up and it said that it should be - 0 per filling. That's a big difference.
I don't know how I can have this many cavities and not be in pain at all. My mom said I should get a second opinion. I also looked up cavities, and it said a lot of times they take years to form, so I don't know how I could have five. Either this dentist is lying, or my other dentist didn't know what to look for.
Does this sound fishy to anyone?
How do cavities feel?
Does it hurt to get them filled?

I'd really like to whiten my teeth, but I have braces. What are some of the best ways to accomplish this? Oh, and school begins on Tuesday, so if you know multiple methods, can you list them from shortest to longest? I mean the amount of time it takes. hahahahaha. Thank you! :D

What is the best teeth whitening bleach?

Posted on November 21, 2010

I've been bleaching my teeth off and on for the past 7 years. First when the brightlight came out, which was unsuccessful. Then with opalescence, which does work. But I've also seen some reviews that celebrity sexy teeth works, as well as zoom, and crest white strips. Any one gotten bright white teeth in a short amount of time?

What are some easy methods to relieve back pain?

Posted on November 18, 2010

My boyfriend works from 11PM - 7AM. He complains of back pain and we've been putting Biofreeze on it and it seems to be helping for the rest of the day. Then when he comes home he says his back hurts again. He says he has a job where he does nothing but stand so it makes his back hurt and we aren't able to make a chiropractor appointment. Are there any other methods to relieve his back pain but for a longer amount of time?
Its not a chronic pain but it does annoy him.

I am having difficulty with my 20 month old son brushing his teeth?

Posted on September 12, 2010

Every evening I the daddy bring my 20 month old son into the bathroom give him his tooth brush with tooth paste on it and tell him "brush your teeth". sometimes I get him started. After about 20 seconds he starts biting his tooth brush and/or finding different "activities" in the bathroom. He will not let me put him on my lap to brush. How do I get him to brush his actual teeth for an appropriate amount of time? I want good oral hygene habits for him. Any suggestions?
