No insurance, have health problems, need specialty visits… what should I do?
3 wks ago I started getting mentrual-like cramps that was targeted mainly on my left side. After about 2 wks of that I went to the Health Center at the college I go to and saw a Physician. She did a pelvic exam and I had some blood work done. Now after 2 1/2 wks of cramping the pain turned into general pelvic pain, the pain doesn't feel like cramping anymore... it's worse! So I went back to the Health Center she says that all the tests she did on me came out normal and so she doesn't know what else she can do for me but suggest that I go to a Gynecologist. My problem is that I don't have any health insurance, the only thing I have is Family Pact & it might cover another pelvic exam by the Gyn but nothing else. I might have to have an ultrasound done & would have to pay that cash. So far the cheapest Gyn I've been able to find is 0 for consult (might not have to pay that b/c I have Family Pact) & 0 for an ultrasound. Should I just apply for health insurance now (4/mo + cpay)
or should I just try to find the cheapest way out of this? What I'm worried about is that I might have something serious and go through surgery or something and I'm sure surgery procedures won't be too cheap if I'm paying cash. Also, what if I need medication...
Also I heard that if I get insurance after seeing someone for this, if my insurance finds out then the insurance would charge me for it. Is that true?
Can someone take insulin tablets ihey suspect they might have diabetes but are afraid to discover it?
I have a friend who is nearly 50 and gets fainting spells from time to time & feels tired easily & has some short term memory loss. He feels he might have diabetes but is afraid to find out because psychologically he is not prepared.
He is thinking about trying out insulin tablets just to see if that helps.
Is there a danger in doing so ?
Any comments or suggestions ?
He doesn't know English.

How come Diabetes is considered as undersecretion of Insulin?
so yeah, can someone give me a not so confusing answer for it? What i was thinking was since Insulin stimulates glucose uptake by cells & diabetes is high blood sugar, wouldn't it be oversecretion? i don't understand why it's the other way around. Im not great when it comes to science, but i try to put effort into the stuff i do.
are there any mental health residential centers that a 40 year old women could live in in Florida ?
My mother is in a crisis stabilization unit & may be released any time this week. She was living with my grandparents who do not want her to come back into their home. They are tired of her refusing her meds, treating them like dirt, & walking all over them. They get retirement money, but not enough to care for her. They are also getting older and unable to handle her any longer. They refuse to kick her out, but they dont know what else to do. She has severe mental health problems. Please help.

How would I have my sister tested for type 2 diabetes?
She is 18 and she's obese (I calculated her BMI). Diabetes (type 1 & 2) runs in the family and I am worried about her, she refuses to eat right and exercise at all.
What should I do? Call the family doctor or just schedule a test? She would never ask the doctor for a test and I don't know if I should.
I don't usually go to doctor appointments with her. But our family doctor has never talked to her about the dangers of being obese.
