there's a lump above my tooth, is it an infection or gingivitis?

Posted on February 11, 2011

my teeth/gums just started hurting earlier this week. i have had this lump on my gums above a tooth i had a filling put on a few years ago for at least a year. my dentist told me a couple months ago that i have early stages of gingivitis but i don't have any symptoms so i am wondering if the pain i have is because of that one tooth. i've been using listerine mouthwash and rinsing with salt water for the pain but it doesn't seem to be working. at my last visit my dentist didn't want to pull it yet because they are fitting me for a partial retainer. will urgent care prescribe antibiotics for it or do i need to have it pulled by the dentist?

My mom went to a dentist to have her teeth cleaned. The next day one of her teeth got inflamed?

The dentist prescribed Tetracycline antibiotics and said that he would have to make a gum surgery. He wants to separate the gum from the tooth temporarily so that he could access the roots and the bone to remove plaque from it. My mom is 71. The last time she had a problem with the tooth was 30 years ago. That was the time when she had a crown installed on it. She never had a problem with the tooth. Never saw pus coming out of it. And now after having it cleaned it got inflamed. The X-rays test revealed that the tooth is ok. What the dentists says is that he just wants to remove plaque from the tooth below the gum. Is it really so necessary to do to my 71 years old mom? Is it dangerous for her health?
When the dentist was cleaning the tooth he accidentally damaged the gum. My mom felt pain and there was blood.
The tooth that got inflamed is a molar.

About Gums…….Gingivitis??

I 've got some abcess on the side of my lower right gums which seems to be the result of Gingivitis. I am myself a doctor but i need serious help. I have used many antibiotics & anti-inflammatory (such as NSAIDs) drugs but it reappears after i stop taking them.
Can you please help me with some non-surgical permanant prescriptions??
Well as a proffessional, i take pretty good care of my oral cavity including all aspects of hygein but the problem is just not going away.

How do I disinfect my Invisalign trays if I have strep throat?

Posted on January 11, 2011

I have a pretty bad case of it...but like a week left of this set of Invisalign trays. They say to change your toothbrush 24 hours after taking antibiotics in order to prevent re-infecting yourself. How do I disinfect my trays without damaging them? I know that heat can hurt them, since they're basically plastic materials...so no boiling water. I'm concerned that something like alcohol may not be good for them...

Forever have we been advised to be mindful of diabetic feet. This vlog is no different - in fact, it's an example of why you need to watch your feet like you'd mind your business. They're just as important and likely as hard-working as the rest of us (if not more!) For more vlogs and to subscribe to "Allies Voice" - visit: www.alliesvoice.com
