are doctors who work in places like clinics/health centers just as good as ones who have private practices?
if you are going to like a free clinic or a community health center to see a doctor, are those doctors just as educated and qualified as ones who have their own private practice? if so, what are the reasons the doctors work in a clinic type environment rather than their own private office?
for insurance reasons, my daughter has to see her pediatrician at a health center, and not a private practice. i just want to make sure she is getting the same kind of care. we have had on appointment and so far it seemed good. i just wanted to make sure.
Lines in teeth?!! PLEASE HELP?
I was away camping last week at a campground and while brushing my teeth one night I noticed a whitish, almost clear line in my bottom middle tooth. It's towards the top of my tooth, not near the gum line. It is with my acid erosion but is more down into the tooth. It doesn't hurt but it's scaring me. That came day I brushed my teeth fairly hard because someone had said they were noticing plaque in my teeth so I scratched it off with my tooth brush. I suffer from paranoia so it made me panic and my mouth hurt and everything but when my mind was on something else it didn't hurt, with my condition that means that it doesn't actually hurt, I just think it does. When I shine a light on it, there's a line the whole way down my tooth that looks like a crack but definitely isn't because I can't feel it no matter how hard I try.
Last night after arriving home I noticed that there was a tiny tiny line like the other one on a tooth 2 teeth away. This morning after getting up my gums feel swollen but I can't determine if they are or aren't because they do not look swollen, just feel it, and this may just be my paranoia.
I am going to make an appointment with a dentist, however I am TERRIFIED of the dentist and the thought of it makes me shake, I will go, I know I have to, but an idea of what is wrong would really help. I refuse to chew on those teeth because I am scared that it will make them worse. The lines aren't chalky, they look like thick pieces of acid erosion, but in the middle of my teeth, with no other erosion immediately surrounding it.
PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!
Where do people without health insurance get tested for diabetes?
If person has no health coverage and can't afford the fee for a doctors appointment, how are they supposed to get tested for diabetes? They are showing all of the signs and symptoms, but with health care being unaffordable where do they go?
Can my doctor tell if I have type 2 diabetes by doing a non-fasting blood test?
My doctor suspects I have type 2 diabetes because I had a child that was over 10 lbs. (8 years ago) and now I am experiencing chronic (2-3 a month) yeast infections. My appointment was in the evening last week and she drew blood, but I did not fast before the test. Some coworkers tell me that there is no way she could tell if I have diabetes using that method. Opinions?
How do doctors test for type 2 diabetes?
I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and due to my weight of 315 pounds and the fact that I would be considered morbidly obese with a BMI greater than 40, I will most likely be tested for type 2 diabetes. I wouldn't be suprised if I do have it though.
What happens when you have proteinuria and Type One diabetes?
Two years ago, before I was diagnosed with type one, I was diagnosed with proteinuria. Last December, I was diagnosed with Type one diabetes. I haven't seen my kidney specialist since. But should I make an appointment? Is it possible that things are different now that I have diabetes?
Thanks!
Why do people who have diabetes have to remove their shoes and socks at doctor appointments?
I recently had a doctors appointment and their was a sign in the exam room saying that if you are a diabetic to please remove your socks and shoes. Why do diabetics have to remove their shoes and socks? I don't know much about diabetes and I am curious.
Why does this health center continue to call me?
This health center place continues to call me repeatedly each day trying to confirm an appointment that I have never made with them. I have called them and told them that I haven't made any appointments with them but they continue to contact me. What could be the reason for this? They're called the miles square health center. They are really beginning to worry me.
