Can Gingivitis be cured overtime with good brushing/flossing?… Cuz really yall, i can't take no dentist!!?
Okay so, when it comes to brushing and flossing....i do it. I mean i don't take the "3 to 5 minute time limit" to do this, cause ever since i was little i've always brushed for the same amount of time. A little under a minute. And yes, when i was little i never flossed but when i turned 12 and went to the dentist for the FIRST TIME..Yes I Know....I started really taking care of my teeth.* Mom where were you?* But i Digress, So this gingivitis thing has had it's come arounds but my dentis never sai d a thing about it..they just say. take better care of your teeth. blah blah balh..yeah i know the drill..and THAT drill too!! Lol. But jokes aside, I don't wanna lose my precious half adult, half baby teeth so i ask of you...can this gingivitis "thing" stop by me taking MORE better care of my teeth and my oral diet..if that makes sense* or do i have to go to the doctor and let them handle it. Cus really yall that speck of blood on my floss...GOT TO GO!!!!! :)
What is the best electric toothbrush for someone with lots of crowding teeth?
I haven't gotten braces yet so my bottom teeth are really messed up. There's just not enough room for all those teeth down there. There's are a ton of adult teeth coming in behind my baby teeth. So, as you could guess, it's a madhouse down there with my small jaw with no room and too many teeth growing every-which-way, so i have a lot of little spaces where my teeth come together to make corners or overlap and make a little crack where all this plaque is building up and whenever i go to the dentist they tell me that i have a lot of build-up in those cracks and i always tell them i will try harder but i only do that while i remember that i need to try harder. So a couple days.
At my last dental check-up my dentist asked me if i used an electric toothbrush then made a weird face when i told her i didn't. Then later on a totally different subject she told me that i, once again, had a lot of build-up in my bottom row, she told me that i probably brushed like any kid with more average teeth should but that because my bottom row was so full of these little build-up spots i needed to work harder at brushing so now i think it is time for an electric brush to help me out but i need one that will work well in my build-up spots. Anyone that's the same way and has a toothbrush that works? Or does anyone just know about this and knows a brush that will work. Battery powered would be the best but it's ok if it's just re-chargable. Thanks in advance!
So how do I get whiter teeth?
I'm 12 years old and i lost all my baby teeth.I take good care of my teeth (brush twice and floss each day) and they are yellow, they also have erosion at the tips, but my dentist said i have overall healthy teeth.Back to my point here, my teeth are yellow and i need some whitning advice, i want to use bleaching but the chemicals are too strong for me in whitning toothpaste and mouth washes so ...does anyone have any ideas about whiter teeth?
this is greatly appreciated!
Can anything rejuvenate your teeth?
I'm 18 and have bad teeth. Not horrible enough where getting cosmetic surgery would make any sense but bad enough to spoil that perfect moment where you catch eyes across the room and you both smile. As a child I simply didn't brush enough, once a week and on special occasions from 6-11 years old. (3-5 I brushed of course baby teeth don't last...oh my white baby teeth)
Even as a teen brushing was simply not a habit but seemed like work for me. From 12-14 I'd brush essentially everyday before school and on occasion before bed. Finally at age 15 I got my act together and it seems like I take care of my teeth not the great way dentists tell me to, but the same way all the people I know with good smiles take care of their teeth. It still doesn't seem to be enough, and on occasion I fall into old bad habits.
I have tea stains, white plaque spots from early childhood, clearness in spots, and ridged teeth on many.
Is there anything I can do to catch up? Any tricks to minimize this damage, or to gain back what I lost. I really don't like my teeth. If they were just more solid and consistent with even an offwhite color and smooth I'd be fine. So again...Is there anything I can do?
Do I need my tooth pulled?
My molar on my left & right side had horrible cavities when I was younger. So my Grandmother & aunt had them filled. But for some reason they weren't good enough and I remember when I was in 3rd grade I ate a piece of that really hard, store bought popcorn and it pushed up my filling on my left side and I couldn't eat on it for years (I still won't eat on that side because of the pain). Now a few years ago, I guess it just deteriorated on my right side because there is a big black cavity on my right & left side. Also about in the middle of sixth grade (about 2 years ago.) some of my adult started growing in my my left side on the bottom. Now my baby teeth are stuck and literally falling apart. (there is two.) Anyways, the new teeth are pushing them away, but they just won't fall out. I've tried wiggling them but they hurt to much when I touch them. I would say a few months ago, a part of one of those teeth fell apart and fell out. They don't have cavities but I think they have acid erosion. Anyways, recently about a week ago, my left side of my mouth had been causing me major pain. It's sometimes like I can feel my heart throbbing in my tooth it hurts. I would say I think Tuesday, I was crying my eyes out and I fell down on the floor and I was spitting in the sink it hurt so bad. My aunt has been giving me percocets for the pain. She's afraid to give them to me, but I absolutely need them. The pain inturrupts my life and causes me to not be able to do things I need or want to do. Like when it hurts to much, I can't and won't even talk it hurts so much. And I spent the night at a friends house last night, but I had to leave early the pain was too much. I went to the dentist a few years ago and they said I would need a root canal. But thing is, A root canal isn't going to do anything. I WANT THAT BITCH PULLED OUT. It hurts way too much. And also I would probably need my right molar pulled out and also those two bottom teeth that won't come out. But I don't have insurance what so ever, so I'm not sure if I can keep living on percocets until I do because I don't have the money. Which would be cheaper, and less painful, and better for me in the longrun? A root canal or just get it pulled? Or is there something I might be able to do? Help!
Is there a mouth disease in toddlers that can cause cavities even though you practice good oral hygeine?
My daughter is 2.5 and had caps put on her 4 molars in Decmeber. She also had fluoride treatments in her whole mouth as well as sealents on her 2 year molars. We had always taken good care of her teeth, but now we take excellent care of her teeth. And yesterday, I discovered a new cavity on her incisor in her mouth that hurts her (even though it is only in the just turning white stage of a cavity). I have always heard if a cavity hurts you need a root canal or an extraction. Baby teeth can't get root canals because they don't have roots. Does anyone know if this is true? And Does anyone know of any kind of mouth disease she could have that is causing cavities even though she has good oral hygeine?? It doesn't make any sense. I am really worried.
what can i do, i have no enamel on my teeth at all?
When I first started growing in teeth after the baby teeth fell out, Everyone noticed that I have no enamel on my teeth at all and they are very small then the usual size of teeth. My brother also has this problem, and my dad when he was younger, he had to get all of his teeth pulled and now has false dentures. I haven't been to a dentist since I was about 9, now im 16. I don't know what to do. Will I just have to get them capped? pulled? help please! Thank you.
Do I need braces?(Seriously don't know)?
Okay, I have lost all my baby teeth but my teeth are starting to get crooked. Like on my bottom teeth they are perfectly straight. On the top, I have fluoride stains on my two front teeth, on the left and right there is gaps between my K9 teeth. The reason of the space is that when I lost the baby teeth it started to curve in. Also, in the back there is some spaces. I've went to the dentist multiple times and he still hasn't said anything about them. Plus I have a REALLY bad over bite. If I show you my teeth you can't see the bottom teeth. That's how much my top teeth cover my bottom ones. I don't have buck teeth at all. And since I have the fluoride stains, should I whiten them before or after the braces? Please help :]
Loose permanent tooth, eroding enamel, and pregnancy.
I have no idea what to do here but one of my front teeth are loose (I'm 20 & have all my permanent teeth) like it is when you're a kid and you lose your baby teeth, and the enamel on my teeth is slowly eroding and eating holes in my teeth and one has even chipped about a quarter of the way off. I'm pregnant and I'm wondering if theres some kind of deficiency that could cause this because I brush, floss, and rinse like crazy but it's not doing any good. I know I'm anemic but I have been for majority of my life and nothing like this has ever happened. What am I doing wrong? I can't go to the dentist because I have medicaid and medicaid doesn't cover vision/ dental and I have about 6 or 7 messed up teeth now and thats a LOT of money that I don't have. Any ideas because I do modeling and there is no way I can let my teeth get any worse than they already are.
