What are the most common ways to diagnose diabetes?

Posted on September 10, 2011

I know urine tests and blood tests could be administered but I was told by someone that urine tests won't even be able to tell if you have diabetes... that you'll end up having to get a blood test to determine if you do have diabetes. Then what's the point of getting a urine test?
Thanks in advance :)

How much does somebody with diabetes urinate?

Posted on September 8, 2011

I'm 17 male and I've got a lot of diabetes symptoms like urinating lots, blurred vision, occasional tingling. But with the urinating [the main symptom] how much comes under the diabetic catagory? How many full bursts of urine would you have a day. I have it more at night, and I go to the toilet usually in the day. Also how much would somebody drink a day if they had it.

Btw i've set a blood test, i just wanna know now.

How does a doctor test a person for diabetes?

I wanted to know how a doctor tests a person to find out id they have diabetes? Do they just prick your finger, or is it a blood test where they have to draw blood with a needle of what?

Is there another way to test for Diabetes then a blood test?

How can I preclude life insurance blacklisting with Diabetes II?

Posted on July 13, 2011

I have a case of Type II Diabetes and I have found that qualification for life insurance requires a blood test. Based on blood testing, companies will charge much more if a person has Type II Diabetes. I was wondering if there is some way to fool the company to make them believe that I am normal. Perhaps I could work out just before the test?

Is it possible to have high blood sugar/ diabetes that is not recognized by standard tests?

Posted on June 28, 2011

I am obese, but have never had diabetes or pre-diabetic conditions. I had a baby in 2008, but did not even have gestational diabetes. However I remember something I read which mentioned (just a vague memory here...) that it's possible to have some gestational diabetes which is not detected by the standard glucose-measuring blood test I had. It was just a fleeting mental note until I started getting athlete's foot pretty regularly, and read that it may be related to high blood sugar. Any ideas?

What will happen if you had diabetes and it never got diagnosed?

Posted on June 9, 2011

I'm doing a project on diabetes and i was just curious to see what could happen if you didn't get a blood test or didn't spot the symptoms and went on living with it. Would you go into a coma? Could you die? Whats the worst that could happen?

Resolving Type 2 Diabetes with a pancreas friendly food chart (2010)

Diabetes - It is estimated that 18 million Americans are currently waiting to be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Like me, they have no symptoms, no idea and hardly know the word diabetes. You wake up one morning and your A1c (a simple blood test) is out of control. So what can you do? There is something you can do before, during and after type 2 diabetes.
