Teeth hurt after done with tongue piercing?

Posted on February 28, 2011

i got my piercing done yesterday and now two - four bottom front teeth hurt, when I touch them or when I want to bite with them (when I don't do anything, then it doesn't hurt). Is that normal?
Welll.. my teeth didn't hurt before piercing..

can i get braces with a little case of gingivitis?

Posted on January 27, 2011

ok, i went to the orthodontist like a month ago, and they gave me the "regular" checkup. they looked at my teeth and said i had a small case of gingivitis.
one of my bottom front tooth is a little "long" than its supposed to be, but he said that was probably because that tooth is in a "overbite" position, so every time i bite down on it, it just causes that.

im getting spacers in 1 week and braces in 2 weeks, does that mean that he didn't think it wasn't anything serious that i shouldn't have braces? could my teeth take that much pressure? how can i get rid of a small case of gingivitis?

Spaces between teeth?

I hadn't gone to the dentist in a really long time but I finally went and he removed all the plaque, and now there are tiny spaces in between the bottom front teeth. Will those go away?

Some kind of hard white buildup on my bottom teeth?

Posted on December 24, 2010

I just noticed that on the back of my two bottom front teeth that there is some kind of white-ish hard buildup. I scrubbed at it with my toothbrush and scratched it lightly with my fingernail (I didn't want to do it too hard at the risk of breaking something) but it didn't come off. I brush my teeth pretty regularly, but flossing is rare as my braces make it difficult.

Anyone know what this is? And should I worry?

I want to try a new toothbrush, but I'm not sure what to get?

Posted on December 17, 2010

I'm thinking about one of those electric toothbrushes, but I'm not sure which on is the best. My bottom front teeth curve inwards towards my throat a little bit, and that place behind my teeth is a prime spot for plaque to hide since it's hard to brush back there considering the shape of my teeth. I try with my current toothbrush, but it just doesn't do the trick. I would like a brush that removes plaque really well (as in gets rid of it completely). Would anyone know about a brush that works? Thanks so much!

Tooth pain from grinding? HELP!?

Posted on December 7, 2010

Tuesday morning I woke up with a very slightly chipped bottom front tooth, which was sensitive to hot/cold, etc. I could tell some of my top front tooth was chipped as well. I went into the dentist that morning, had x-rays taken and the teeth looked at. At the time, my top front tooth did not hurt at all. However, the dental hygenist started pushing at it and poking at it and it THEN started hurting.

The dentist said that my xrays were fine and there wasn't any reason to bond or put a crown on my tooth because no nerves were exposed. Basically, he said that everything would be fine, but he prescribed me some fluoride toothpaste to ease the tooth sensitivity and improve my teeth's enamel since I grind my teeth.

Ever since that visit my top front tooth has hurt pretty much nonstop. It doesn't hurt bad enough to keep me from going to sleep at night and when I first wake up in the morning it doesn't hurt! But as the day progesses it begins to hurt more and more!

I've called the dentist back and they encouraged me to take Advil, or the equivalent, for pain as needed. They said if it still hurt in a week to call them back because I might need to be seen by a specialist.

Well next week is Thanksgiving and I'm going to be out of town so I'm desperately seeking some clarification as to WHAT this could be! The pain is a dull ache, on or in, my front tooth. At it's worst it feels slightly searing. It does NOT effect my gums at all. I can eat just fine, but I am avoiding that area.

Please help!

weird dental question?

Posted on October 1, 2010

okay so i've always had problems with my teeth!! i brush and floss just like i'm supposed to but i still get cavities and stuff. the other day i felt this weird stuff (hard and plaque-ish) on the back of my bottom front two teeth. i looked and it looked like a build-up of plaque but it was solid and hard so i picked at it (stupid i know). a peice broke off at the gum line and i looked and it was hard white with a small line of dark that would have been touching my tooth. it didn't hurt when it broke off and it didn't bleed. it still doesnt hurt. there is still some build up on the back of the two teeth above what i broke off that will not come off with brushing or flossing or picking at it! where it did break off feels like a very small dent, not sharp or anything and since it is so close to my gum line i cant see it well. could it have been a peice of my actual tooth that broke out or was it just just weird hard build up? i dont understand because honestly i brush my teeth EVERY DAY!!!! i dont have insurance and really really really can't afford to go to the dentist b/c we already have alot of bills piling up (like most everyone nowadays)

sore gums on bottom front teeth?

Posted on September 30, 2010

My bottom front gums have been bothering me for about 5 days now. There is no noticeable swelling or bleeding, however, the pain is like a throbbing pain always there. There is a thin layer of white around the gum close to the tooth and I am not sure what this is. I don't believe the cause would be plaque as I just had a cleaning about 4 months ago and brush and floss regularly. I called the dentist and the receptionist said it could be a virus that could last ten days but the throbbing is really painful and not even Tylenol stops it. Any suggestions of what this could be or what I should do?
