They can include something as simple as an over the counter rinse, gel, or even a pen to something that involves a tray that fits on your teeth that you put bleaching gel into. The over-the-counter options tend to have a lower concentration of what a dentist would prescribe, but tend to be a safe, economical, and viable option for those seeking a slight improvement in their smile. Keep in mind over-the-counter products tend to remove external stain better than internal stain and will not affect any existing dental work. Healthy Teeth: Can Teeth Whitening Harm Teeth?
Learn whether teeth whitening can harm teeth in this dental care video. Expert: Shane Methal, DDS Video transcript: Shane Methal: Can Teeth Whitening Harm Teeth? My office website is www.greenestreetdental.com, that's green with an "e" at the end, and today I'm going to be talking about teeth and dentistry. Can Teeth Whitening Harm Teeth? Shane Methal: Well, the short answer is "yes," if you over-bleach. By that, I mean sooner than every six months to a year. If you do over-bleach, you can cause permanent changes into the outer layers of the enamel of your teeth, which could result in permanent sensitivity, and their color changes which are undesirable. When you over-bleach, your teeth do not get whiter and whiter, but instead can become blue or blue-grey, as you bleach out all the pigment. So make sure you don't over-bleach any sooner than six month to a year at most. Thanks for watching Healthy Teeth: Can Teeth Whitening Harm Teeth?! Does eating breakfast without brushing one's teeth first cause dangerous swallowing of plaque?
My friend claims that eating breakfast before brushing teeth is "gross" because it causes the person to swallow plaque with his/her food, and this is unhealthful. I certainly agree that teeth should be brushed in the morning, but I had not thought it mattered if a little food was eaten first. Aren't we swallowing plaque all night long, simply by virtue of the way saliva works? Also, is this even bad? I know plaque is bad for teeth, but I didn't know there was a special danger in swallowing it after it is there.
What does brushing teeth do to us?
Being more detailed, I know brushing teeth will take the bacteria in your mouth and might make teeth white but is that all?
Cause after brushing I look in the mirror and my skin seems different, like it's more smoother or cleaner in a way but it goes off just after I brushed, so my question would be does brushing teeth have some other effect other then the ones I just listed?
Thanks
Brushing your teeth question?
I was wondering if anyone had any tips on brushing teeth, firstly i would brush my teeth with toothpaste, floss, and then use listerine. My first question would be the listerine part, after i rinse and spit out do i rinse my mouth with water? or just leave it?...and my gums have swelled up alittle because of the floss, i didnt use to floss so im assuming thats the cause, this is a good or bad thing?
I dont brush my teeth?
Well... In my family they brush their teeth about twice a day, i havnt brushed my teeth in about 8 years though. Everytime i go to the dentist. my dentist says my teeth are great, but my sisters always get cavities, we eat the same things. I just turned 18, my sisters are 16. One time my dentist says my teeth are so healthy he made them his screensaver for what teeth should look like. while.... my sisters, one had 11 cavities and the other 8.... me 0, I drink tons of milk and always use toothpicks to stop anything from building between them and plaque from building on them. Is this a (decent) replacement for brushing teeth... or am i just extremely lucky? my friend used to do the same thing, but he started brushing his teeth awhile back. he now has 3 cavities
Oh. i doo have a very good immune system. my dentist says thats a big reason behind it
