is putting baking soda on my teeth going to ruin them?
so i heard that you can make your teeth whiter by mixing 1 tablespoon with a tiny bit of water dipping your toothbrush in and brushing your teeth. and then after doing this i brush my teeth with whitening toothpaste. i brush with the baking soda a couple of nights a week and the other nights just with the whitening toothpaste. is the baking soda harming my teeth? is there anything i should be worried about?? and how often a week should i do it?? any other tips would be helpful :)

Yes for some of you this may be a dumb question but I need to know; I brushed my teeth this morning then rinsed it all out. Later on at school I had foam coming out of my mouth. Can brushing your teeth too much be possible? Can it damage your teeth? I am a bit obsessive about this sort of thing. I brush twice daily, floss once a night, and use mouthwash when I brush. however, my girlfriend says i brush for too long when i do, usually like 3-5 minutes maybe. I still get cavities pretty often and i dont know what to do about this.I think it may be ruining my gums too. Any thoughts? whats the recommended regimen for oral cleanliness?
