Will teeth whitening products work for me?
I would like to use whitening products such as the Crest whitening toothpaste, mouthwash, and strips. My only problem is that I had a chipped tooth a few years back, and had the dentist fix it. Will the products whiten my teeth along with the tooth filling? Or will it not whiten the filling at all, and my teeth will come out two-toned? Thanks in advance!
Bulimia and dental hygiene: I need help!!?
Okay, I am going to tell you all my full story.
I was bulimic for about 8 months or so. I was normal weight, but I thought I was fat, so I turned to eating disorders. I was anorexic for the beginning few of those months, too. Because I was already small, I only lost about 15 pounds, but I was so proud. But I've been eating better and I haven't been vomiting for about a month and a half now. Yay!!! :) however, I did gain back all of the weight, but I don't really care, because this happened:
I skipped out on dentists appointments for about 2 years before I went to the dentist again about a month ago. At that appointment, he told me that I had 4 cavities! And I had never had a cavity before, so I knew it was because my enamel had softened. He told my mom that the erosion was due to some type of acid (which I know is stomach acid), so he didn't find out about the bulimia. My back molar is also chipped because the enamel softened so much. I have to get root canal and a crown on the chipped tooth, and I have to get all of the cavities filled, all together costing around 00 because of my bulimia. Totally not worth it! Now I'm going to a specialist who is going to give the root canal. Now, here are my questions.
- what do I do if my dentist/specialist asks if I have an eating disorder? I do NOT NOT NOT want to tell either of them, so what could I say that would be another probable cause for the cavities and tooth decay?
- I've been disorder free for a while now, but how long does it take for my body to start recovering and going back to norma,?
What toothpaste after a resin fill?
I just fixed a chipped tooth by getting a resin fill at the dentist. He puts an epoxy on the tooth and then he makes it look like new! My question is what toothpaste should I use so it does not degrade the epoxy fill? The last time I got this done, about after a month I noticed that my tooth looked like it was dull white rather than shiny white. I heard some toothpastes eat away at this resin. Does anyone know?
How important is good teeth?
I heard that people in California (celebrity world) won't even talk to people with bad teeth. I heard this on the Ryan Seacrest show. (LOL) but that's not my point,
How important is good teeth to you? When you see someone with crowded teeth or crooked, gaped, or chipped teeth/tooth, does it leave a bad first impression?
I think some people took my question the wrong way.
Im not taking about nasty teeth that OBVIOUSLY hasnt been taken care of. Im taking about..a nice looking person but just crooked teeth or chipped tooth. Something like that.

why have i got such a bad tooth ache?
On friday i had to go to the dentist. i thought i had a chipped tooth and he filled it and said that ive got weak enamel. since friday i have had a bad tooth ache that keeps coming and going from where i got the filling done. i don't need to take any tablets but its really annoying me. Could it be my wisdom teeth coming in.
I have another filling as well where i chipped my tooth from years ago.

How to get artificial tooth lighter?
I got a chipped tooth filled artificial enamel about 5 years ago and now that tooth is darker than the others. What can I do to make it brighter?
I'm a recovered bulimic wanting to restrengthen my tooth enamel.?
I was bulimic for 3 1/2 to four years. From the age of 18 to about 22 yrs. old. I am now 29 years old and am no longer a victim to that nightmarish disease anymore. I have one chipped tooth from how bulimia stripped away my tooth enamel. Other than that one tooth, my other teeth seems fine, but I am concerned because I do see fractures on my front teeth in the bathroom light. How can I strengthen my tooth enamel without seeing a dentist (too expensive) so that my teeth will be safe from chipping again?
Plaque buildup?
I just went to the dentist to fix what i thought was a chipped tooth. As it turns out, the only thing i needed was a professional clean! Apparently there was a large amount of plaque buildup and when some of that chipped away, it felt like my tooth! After having the clean done it feels as though half my teeth are missing but in fact it simply my teeth minus the plaque! The dentist told me that its doesnt matter what sort of dental hygiene a person has, if they dont have a professional clean every 6 months then the plaque build up becomes severe. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?
Why am I getting chips in my tooth enamel?
I have a few minor chips in a few of my teeth, and I'm not sure why. It may be originally because of acid wear, which wore down my teeth, and now they are chipping left and right. I noticed a new one on my top-front left tooth. My question is, I know I can't restore a chipped tooth, but how can I strengthen my enamel?
BTW, I'm only 17, so I'm even more worried about it.
