Poor teeth – is it genetic?

Posted on February 23, 2011

I've had 11 cavaties over the past year. No one believes me when I say that I really do brush my teeth twice a day (1-2 minutes each), floss every day, and use Act fluoride rinse. My mom has had 4 root canals, my dad had all his teeth pulled when he was 17, could it be genetic? The dentists I've been to don't seem to think so, but clearly something is wrong.
I stopped drinking pop and coffee, stopped eating snacks between meals. That helped for a year or two, but now the cavaties are back. Most often in the molars.
I did have a child 19 months ago and the hormones can last up to 3-5 years from a pregnancy, could it be that?
Please help, my dentist thinks I'm an idiot and this is embarrassing. Any suggestions?

is it to late to get white teeth….?

Posted on February 19, 2011

So, I drink soda everyday, I have pretty much eliminated myself from drinking coffee because i know its worse than soda. I got my braces on exactly 1 year ago. I will get them off this summer. I had okay teeth before I got them on, but sadly ever since I got them on, I never really brush. Like, proboally ever 2 days & i never floss... But my teeth really arent too bad. They have a yellow tint. I have never had a cavity. And, I know if i dont start taking better care of my teeth they will be bad! So, is there anything I can do to start taking better care of them? please no judging, I know. & Does switching from coke&Dr.Pepper to sprite help? or should i just stop drinking soda completly? & If i start working really hard at them, do you think I will have white teeth when I get my braces off? I still have like 7 months till I get them off. Thanks for all the help. 10 POINTS TO BEST ANSWER!

How to get whiter, brighter teeth?

Posted on February 8, 2011

I regularly brush and floss my teeth every day, but I find that my teeth still look somewhat dingy (I also don't drink cola or smoke). I have tried Crest White Strips in the past, but they didn't work! Any other ways that I can get a whiter, brighter smile?
I can't afford to have anything like zoom whitening done, either.
Don't like coffee, so I don't even have to worry about that one.

What are the best teeth whitening strips to use?

My teeth are gettin' a little yellow; I smoke cigs and drink alot of coffee. Does anyone know what the best over the counter teeth whitening products are? Or how about these teeth whitening treatments that i see here and there .. do they work .. they are a little costly but it would be worth it if it really worked?
