What's the best 7-12 day teeth whitening for sensitive teeth?

Posted on August 21, 2010

Well, I don't normally have sensititve teeth - except when I used teeth whitening strips. About 5 years ago, I tried Crest whitening strips (back when they didn't have a strong formula and it took about a month to see results.) Well, it really hurt my teeth because after about 2 weeks of using them, my teeth got really sensitive.
I'm afraid if I get 1 week treatment, the solution will be compounded and too strong for my teeth to handle.
What are your experiences? Thanks!

Pros and Cons of brushing with baking soda…?

Posted on August 18, 2010

I know it cleans well and whitens your teeth, but I've heard it causes bad breath and it lacks fluoride.

Do toothpastes that have a bit of baking soda in them as well as fluoride work just as good when it comes to whitening?

What if I brushed with baking soda and then used a strong mouthwash afterward with fluoride in it. Could that be an alternative to toothpaste?
Or should I stick with toothpaste and just use something like Crest Whitening Strips?
Can baking soda dissolve orthodontic glue and destroy enamel?

Should it be used like every other day instead of every day because of this?

Do the Crest Whitening strips also clean the yellow stains that are below the tooth's surface?

Posted on August 16, 2010

I wanna know if the Crest Whitening Strips also clean the yellow stains that are under the teeth's surface because my sister who is 15 years old has that problem and the dentist is kinda expensive. They say that a dentist would normally charge around 0 dollars and that's kinda expensive. I wanna know if the Crest Whitening Strips also clean the yellow stains under the teeth. Thanks.

does lost enamel from tooth-whitening products come back?

i read this question

but my problem isn't from decay or bulemia... it's from only TWO DAYS of crest whitening strips. needless to say, i ditched them, but my teeth are really sensitive now & it hurts to eat or drink anything :[

so tell me once & for all, if it's only from the cause i mentioned, will the surface enamel grow back or get stronger or whatever it does? i'm worried :[

Should I still follow these dentist's orders?

Posted on August 13, 2010

Well, suffice it to say I didn't take care of my teeth at all throughout high-elementary, middle, and freshman year of high, schools. About a year ago I started every day. Then I started to get toothaches, so we went to a dentist-school. The students in there are pretty much full-fledged dentists, just w/out the lab time set up yet. So I went in and they identified about 5 cavities, all molars. Some are really, really bad. Since the school was full on appointments, my dentist decided to postpone for a while any real drilling or cleaning. She gave me some sort of Previ-Dent toothpaste, medical strength or something, with 1.1% extra fluoride or something. She said to brush my teeth, and rub a pea-sized amount of prevident onto my teeth just before bed, so my teeth would harden more or something. I followed the directions exactly, but recently I've started to get stomachaches at night when I put a little tiny bit too much on. Also the next opening is in SEPTEMBER, and I'm running out. I really want to use the Crest Whitening Strips that have been tempting me for so long in the bottom drawer, but she said to wait. Should I just stop with the Previ-Dent for a while? What should I do? I really want to whiten my teeth, is there any way I can do that w/out ruining everything?

Are teeth whitening strips bad for your teeth?

Posted on August 11, 2010

I'm thinking of using crest whitening strips, but I am not exactly sure how they work. I know some teeth whitening methods sort of strip the enamel, and I know strips sometimes make teeth sensitive. Does this mean they are bad for teeth?

what teeth whitening product do you like?

Posted on August 9, 2010

I'm 15 years old and my teeth aren't exactly white, i'm thinking of buying some whitening strips product ( not the floss, or any of those other stuff) so which ones would you recommend? Also it has to be available in like a common store like walgreens, or something cuz i can't shop online
is the crest whitening strips that makes your teeth very sensitive a big problem? and is it a long term effect?
