Health Insurance cover mouth issue?
I don't have a dental coverage with my current health insurance . I recently went in for a cleaning and they saw a lesion they want to send me to a oral surgeon. I'm afraid if its cancerous I could be on the hook for a huge bill which wouldn't be covered if its considered "dental". I don't want to delay having it examined but I also don't want to ask my insurance company for fear of it being denied as pre-existing dental condition that I couldn't add coverage for. What should I do?
Thanks for the info. I'm sorry for your loss. This thing came out of the blue. Its a little white raised line at the back of my cheek. I'm only 37 and don't use any tobacco products but I'm worried. I'll see my primary doctor and ask to be seen by a ent specialist.
Major depression about teeth?
I am nineteen and have just had four fillings on my back molars. I have had a root canal with a crown before too. I think these things were caused by poor dental hygiene as a child and teenager and it's my biggest regret as I look after my teeth so well now - I use prescription fluoride toothpaste twice a day, mouthwash and floss once a day. It has got to the point where whenever I think about my teeth I want to cry, I have recurring nightmares about my teeth falling out and the main fear I have is that those teeth are now ruined and will never be the same again, meaning that because I'm only young, there will be massive complication as I get older and I'll need more and more and more work doing. My question is, will I be able to prevent further damage or are teeth on some sort of slippery slope? Is it possible for me to maintain the current health of my teeth?
