How do you maintain peridontal disease without seeing a dentist?
I will not have dental coverage till Summer time. It's clear my gums are not as healthy as they should be (they bleed when I floss). I noticed a few months ago that the back of my bottom teeth have this white looking junk on them that I can't get off (most likely plaque or tarter build up) but the teeth with the white stuff on them are starting to turn a light brown color. I also noticed by one of my tooths that a small piece of my gum is very puffy and bleeds very easy. The rest of my gums are in good shape but there is just that little section that doesnt look right. I brush 2x a day, floss, and use an antibacterial mouthwash. I even put tea tree oil on that infected part of my gum.
Please don't tell me I need to see a dentist. If I could believe me I would. I have no insurance and can't even afford a co-payment right now.
What can I do to prevent my teeth and gums from getting worse until I can see a dentist in summer time.
Could a cavity be forming if I'm getting a rotten smell from between 1 or 2 pairs of my back teeth?
I got back on the flossing tip about a year ago when I got my teeth bleached and as my dental coverage ceased. Since then, I've been good at it and actually fixed my gingivitis.
I still have my molars for the record though, and I get this foul smell from between from my top wisdoms and tooth in front of them on each side of my mouth. Smell like a cavity and I can only floss "so well". Should I just get them pulled out, as I don't have any discomfort from them since they grew out nearly perfect. Thanks!
Health Insurance cover mouth issue?
I don't have a dental coverage with my current health insurance . I recently went in for a cleaning and they saw a lesion they want to send me to a oral surgeon. I'm afraid if its cancerous I could be on the hook for a huge bill which wouldn't be covered if its considered "dental". I don't want to delay having it examined but I also don't want to ask my insurance company for fear of it being denied as pre-existing dental condition that I couldn't add coverage for. What should I do?
Thanks for the info. I'm sorry for your loss. This thing came out of the blue. Its a little white raised line at the back of my cheek. I'm only 37 and don't use any tobacco products but I'm worried. I'll see my primary doctor and ask to be seen by a ent specialist.
