Posted on August 21, 2011

If person has no health coverage and can't afford the fee for a doctors appointment, how are they supposed to get tested for diabetes? They are showing all of the signs and symptoms, but with health care being unaffordable where do they go?

What does the doctor do to check for diabetes?

Posted on July 19, 2011

I have been having some symptoms of diabetes for the past couple of weeks. I have been drinking tons of water and going to the bathroom nonstop. I have also had some blurred vision, shortness of breath, and nausea. I have a doctors appointment this week and I was wondering if anyone knew how they tested for diabetes and if they will be able to tell me the results right away or if it will take like a week to get them back or something? I was also wondering if there is anything else they might test me for? Any info you have would be helpful. Thanks!

Why do people who have diabetes have to remove their shoes and socks at doctor appointments?

Posted on July 17, 2011

I recently had a doctors appointment and their was a sign in the exam room saying that if you are a diabetic to please remove your socks and shoes. Why do diabetics have to remove their shoes and socks? I don't know much about diabetes and I am curious.

Is it commonplace for a doctor at a university health center to go on a 2-hour lunch break?

Posted on June 21, 2011

I injured my neck in a go-carting accident on Saturday, and I ran out of Prilosec for the gastritis thing which has been ongoing since December. So I decided to go to the health center on campus to see the doctor again, especially since he said it should've healed by now. So I go into the health center, and the nurse is telling me that the doctor went to lunch (it's 2:00) and won't be back until 3:30, maybe 4:00! And she says I could make an appt. for tomorrow! I've already been nursing this whiplash and swollen stomach for the past two days! And it hurts like hell! And what's more, she's giving me this look like I'm not there for anything serious, so I shouldn't complain!

WTF...

The advil I took is beginning to wear off, and I can feel the pain returning already. Yesterday, it had gotten to the point where I could barely move my head without wincing in pain, and I had to wrap a towel around my neck just so I could sit upright!

Do doctors usually take such long breaks?

What are the health benefits for meditation?

Posted on June 11, 2011

I heard many doctors feel that the practice of meditation is good for a persons health. But the only thing I heard is that it relaxes the body so that the natural defences have a better opportunity to fend off viruses.

What should you watch in your diet to prevent diabetes?

Posted on June 5, 2011

I am 17 and I recently went to the doctors, sense there are so many people with diabetes in my family the doctor told me "It isn't a matter of if you will get diabetes it is when." She then told me to "eat right you know how to your mom is a diabetic" My mother doesn't eat the best so I was wondering what you should be watching in your diet in this situation, would it be calories? Thanks!

If you suffer from chronic and severe back pain, how do you cope?

Posted on May 27, 2011

I hate taking pain pills, but it seems to be the only way for any blunting of the symptoms. The pain is so bad, I even wake up at night.

This has been going on for several years now, and yes I have seen Doctors, who only tell me that surgery will not help and only give me meds.

So, if you suffer from never ending back pain, how do you cope?
