My Sister Has Fluorosis. Which Is Like On Her Teeth Or Something?
Is there a way she can get it to being whiter while she Waits like 3 years till she is old enough for bleaching? But people says hers isent that bad. even the dentist.
Heres what it is?
Your permanent teeth form under your gums in the jawbone during early childhood. Except for your wisdom teeth, the crowns (the part you see in the mouth) of all of the permanent teeth fully form by the time you are about 8 years old. If you consume too much fluoride as a young child, the extra fluoride can disrupt the formation of the enamel (outer part) of your permanent teeth and lead to fluorosis, which varies from minor discoloration to surface irregularities of the teeth. The extra fluoride does not affect other parts of the tooth. Once your teeth have erupted into your mouth, they are not susceptible to fluorosis.
Fluorosis is a cosmetic condition, not a disease. Often, it is so mild that only a dental professional can detect it. Most cases of fluorosis result from young children taking fluoride supplements or swallowing fluoride toothpaste when the water they drink is already fluoridated.
How should I deal with this tooth?
One of my upper central incisors is starting to show some form of tooth decay. There is a small spot on the tooth where the enamel is gone and now there is what I think is the dentin. I can tell because it is a slightly more transparent color than the rest of my tooth and it feels rough and it's not level (like a depression).
I just noticed it a couple of days ago and I'm confused as to how it came about. I got braces last September (2008) and my oral hygiene has never been better. I use a waterpik for about 2 minutes, brush for about 4-5 minutes, and then use a mouthwash.
How should I handle this and prevent any further decay? Right now I am using ACT Mouthwash and also Arm & Hammer Fluoride + Liquid Calcium toothpaste.
Thank you!
Also there is no pain whatsoever.
I chipped off some enamel off my tooth, incisor. Tooth is otherwise fine, What can be done about this?
Can the dentist fill in in area with some strong enamel replacement cement that looks natural? Can they glue back on the small enamel chip I saved?
Best treatment for teeth that have lost all the enamel-lm considering Lumineers but will cost $20G?
My enamel has worn off and left my teeth yellow and wearing away. I heard conventional whitening will not help. Lumineers are relatively new & the best part is that you don't have to have your teeth drilled down like veneers. Does anyone have any experience with this?
how do you know if your teeth still have their enamel?
is there some way to know if your teeth still have their enamel?
Can I "file" my tooth to get rid of decay?
I have brown spots on my very back molars, which I'm guessing is decay. They haven't developed into deep cavities (at least not that I can tell, but hey, I'm no expert) and I recently went to the dentist but they didn't do anything for them.
A front tooth chipped and I got that filed (finally, after the Dr. kept filling it and it just kept falling off) and I have no problems with that tooth. Can I file away the spots where my teeth are decaying? Will it just make it worse? I got a bunch of fluoride products (toothpaste, floss, mouthwash) to help 'restore the enamel' but I'm worried if i do file them it'll just make it worse, maybe even spread the decay.
Can anyone tell me what to do or another way to get rid of them without drilling?
how do i get enamel back on my teeth?
I have been using whitening gel and it has taken the enamel off my teeth and now they hurt and are very sensitive. How do i get it back on my teeth?
What is the proper method of brushing with baking soda?
Are there any negative effects such as harming enamel or is it good for you? Also, how long till I notice results because as with every american, we want instant gratification.
Enamel on my teeth is thin?
I've always had trouble with the enamel on my teeth being thin and having sensitive teeth. Recently its gotten worse and my teeth hurt on the left side (yes I do have a dentist appointment but they don't usually help much at all). Is there anything I can do to help the enamel on my teeth and possibly make it thicker?
How to prevent tooth transparency caused by bleaching – don’t want to give up coffee!?
Veneers for teeth not possible for me. Is there a mechanical or chemical shield to prevent discoloration or a make-up type product to cover up? Or another product to whiten that doesn't cause enamel erosion?
