Acid erosion, very thin teeth…?

Posted on July 29, 2011

I'm addicted to diet coke and have been for many years (don't comment and tell me to quit, I'm trying very hard but it's not something that I can do easily.) It's given me bad acid erosion on my front teeth, top and bottom, so I've recently started drinking through a straw. The acid erosion has given me a slight gap at the bottom of my top front teeth and it seems to getting higher and I'm TERRIFIED of it getting any bigger.

So long story short, will flossing in between my two top front teeth make the gap worse?

What do you think when you see a girl with a gap in her front teeth?

Posted on May 30, 2011

I have a gap in my front teeth, about 3mm or something. So i was wondering if when you see somone with a gap do you feel repulsed, or think nothing of it?
Im afraid to smile with my teeth because my gap makes me self concious, i hate it.
i bugged my parents enough about it for them to finally consider braces for me, but the ortho. said i have this muscle in my gums that will just push my teeth apart after my braces are off, and i need it surgicallly removed. yeah, my mom said NO to that. trust me, if it wasnt for that id have braces on with the promise of no more gap ><

Is it true that guys won't date a girl with a gap in her front teeth?

Posted on May 27, 2011

I was born with a gap between my front teeth. I take perfectly good care of my teeth and they are in great shape. This one guy I have liked for a long time was being very friendly to me in class, we've been partners for several in-class assignments. I thought I had a chance with him, so I asked him if he wanted to hang out. We did, a few times, and he said he really enjoyed my company & wanted to spend more time with me. Finally I decided to ask him out. He wasn't shocked that I asked and said he considered it. BUT he said I can't go out with me until I get the gap in my front teeth fixed because he said it was distracting. I said I was born with it and he said he knows, but if he goes out with me his friends and everyone will laugh (apparently they already do), so this is what we have to do. He said not to be mad at him, he doesn't make the rules and he said no guy would go out with a girl with a gap tooth, he said none of his friends or his brother or anyone else he knows would. He said that's why I've never had a single guy ask me out.

Well I'm really hurt and don't know what to do. should I get it fixed? How much does it cost and what options are there? The dentists never said anything about it. Is he right, about no guys dating girls with gap teeth? I never even realized it or thought it was a problem until this happened. :-(

What are your opinions on teeth with gaps?

I have a gap between my two (top) front teeth,
I hate it so much
But at other times i dont understand why people think its completely gross.

What are your opinions?

heres an example:
You see a really good looking guy/girl and when they smile you see they have a gap, whats your thoughts?
xx
Baring in mind, all my teeth are perfectly straight but i've never had any dental work in my life, my teeth arent rotton either :/
I am not a hick/hillbilly nor do i look like one whatso ever, my gap is about 2 millemetres wide.

Not that big, i just want opinions.
WTF,
most of you are completely hating then saying you used to have a gap.

Is it possible for me to be in a pageant with protruding teeth?

Posted on May 26, 2011

I was wondering if it's still ok if I apply for a beauty pageant even if I don't have the perfect set of teeth. My upper teeth are well aligned, only that the front teeth are protruding a bit.
Do you think I could still pass through the screening with this set of teeth?

This is what they look like:

Please give your HONEST opinions. Thanks. ;)

just got lip piercing, is it hurting my teeth?

Posted on May 24, 2011

i got my lip pierced 2 days ago by a professional piercer. i clean it regularly in the mornin and night with stuff i bought from the piercer and wash my mouth out with non alcohol mouth wash after i eat or drink anything except water. i also brush my teeth twice a day. my tooth near my lip ring (not stud) has been hurting today,( a couple of my front teeth are a little sensitive so could it just be from the ring hitting it every once in a while?) and my whole mouth is a little sore too. is this a bad thing? i also have my eyebrow ears and nose pierced which i havent had any complications with those. also another question, after i eat do i always have to use the mouthwash? or can i just use water , i dont have sea salt. but i think that would be a lot of mouthwash since i usually eat a lot of snacks throughout the day. thanks (:

help me please, im sad about my teeth?

so i have crooked teeth and a small gap between my 2 front teeth, I HATE IT! but my teeth are still nice and white, they arent that bad but they're still ugly. Well my parents said that i could probably get braces soon and i was relieved, so we went for a consoltation at and orodontists office and they said i still need to loose 6 baby teeth before i can get my braces on.. and that could take a year!!!! I'm starting junior high this year!!! how can i deal with this??

Are crooked teeth a major turnoff or minor?

Posted on May 20, 2011

I consider myself to be above average attraction and I have a pretty nice build, so I don't have issues with girls or the whole social scene. My front teeth a slightly turned in though and I am developing a slight gap at the bottom. Many friends say it's not that serious or they never really noticed, but who knows if they're just being polite. Anyways, I'm pretty self conscious about it and would like to get it taken care of, but it's just not good timing considering the massive cost of orthodontic work. Would slightly crooked teeth really turn you off if you thought a guy was cute or you liked him for whatever reason?

Thanks
