How bad is my gingivitis?
I have about 3 gums that swell up. One of them is the tooth right next to my left front tooth. The other two are on my bottom teeth. When I brush my teeth, they bleed and they go back to normal size. Then a few days ago I wasn't able to brush my teeth and then it came back swelled up again. Since it keeps going down and coming back up, does that mean by gingivitis isn't really that bad? Right now they're currently swollen and I just brushed my gums really good. Do I HAVE to go to the dentist or if I just keep brushing really really good it will go away (the gingivitis)?
Is my gingivitis healing?
My dentist told me I have gingivitis in the gum of one of the front tooth and told me it is common among people of my age (im 18). Of course I started treatment, she gave me a transparent cream to do with the gums after washing my teeth. I floss and use mouthwash and also gargle with salt water. During the first week I had a lot of bleeding, the toothpaste was reddish when I brush my teeth but today I brushed my teeth and I did not bleed a lot, just a little and the toothpaste remained pure white. Does this mean its getting better? i still have a bit of a pain in the gum but its better
treating gingivitis *dentists please*?
i have a little gingivitis above a front tooth. so i've decided to really focus on my flossing which i guess ive been doing wrong before. i'm now making sure to go under the gum line and i'm brushing my gums too. so i've noticed tonight my gums look more red and a little swollen. this was my first night of extensive care is that why? how long before they calm down? i know my gums needed that care so i'm assuming getting the floss underneath them would do this since they've been neglected. when i flossed before i just went between the teeth.
i do have a wonderful oral b electric toothbrush. it has a great setting on it that wont let you brush your gums too hard. thanks for all the advice
Ladies and Gentlemen, are you attracted to people with straight teeth or crooked teeth?
I like guys who have almost straight teeth. Like say the front tooth is chipped or kinda twisted. I think its cute. Plus people with insanely straight teeth scare me.

Can you prevent gums from receding any further?
Ok. So I'm 14 and the front tooth in my mouth seems to have a receding gum line. Is there anything I can do to prevent it from receding anymore? I'm afraid the tooth will fall out because it's a permanent tooth. I use a soft bristle toothbrush and I have been using the Crest toothpaste with Baking Powder and Peroxide. I don't know if this will cause more receding. Please recommend some items that will help me.
How much would it cost to fix a very tiny chipped tooth?
I was brushing my teeth and i accidentally hit my front tooth with my toothbrush. After i finished rinsing and everything, i looked in the mirror and noticed a a little piece of my front tooth was gone, now it makes me look like i have a tiny gap. I love smiling, and now i can't smile for so long. My dentist is on vacation and won't be back until February. I'm doomed, if anyone know how much it cost please let me know. I would like to get this taken care of ASAP. Thanks!

Tooth pain from grinding? HELP!?
Tuesday morning I woke up with a very slightly chipped bottom front tooth, which was sensitive to hot/cold, etc. I could tell some of my top front tooth was chipped as well. I went into the dentist that morning, had x-rays taken and the teeth looked at. At the time, my top front tooth did not hurt at all. However, the dental hygenist started pushing at it and poking at it and it THEN started hurting.
The dentist said that my xrays were fine and there wasn't any reason to bond or put a crown on my tooth because no nerves were exposed. Basically, he said that everything would be fine, but he prescribed me some fluoride toothpaste to ease the tooth sensitivity and improve my teeth's enamel since I grind my teeth.
Ever since that visit my top front tooth has hurt pretty much nonstop. It doesn't hurt bad enough to keep me from going to sleep at night and when I first wake up in the morning it doesn't hurt! But as the day progesses it begins to hurt more and more!
I've called the dentist back and they encouraged me to take Advil, or the equivalent, for pain as needed. They said if it still hurt in a week to call them back because I might need to be seen by a specialist.
Well next week is Thanksgiving and I'm going to be out of town so I'm desperately seeking some clarification as to WHAT this could be! The pain is a dull ache, on or in, my front tooth. At it's worst it feels slightly searing. It does NOT effect my gums at all. I can eat just fine, but I am avoiding that area.
Please help!
Need advice on a dental issue?
Hi all,
I have an issue with my lower front tooth incisor. It's tiny bit mobile with root exposure. I'm 23 years old and went to the denist yesterday for my 6 month check up and cleaning.
My hygienist told my I do an excellent job of flossing/brushing as there is hardly any plaque or tartar on/in mymouth. But I asked her to check on this incisor as I could feel something just wasn't right.
She toot an xray and did an examination and said it was indeed SLIGHTLY mobile and the xray showed a little bit of bone loss. She said I DIDNT have periodontal d or gingivitis. She said if I were 50 she wouldn't even cosider referring me to a periodontist but since im only 23 it's odd.
So she gave me the card to a local specialist and than my dentist came in and the hygienist told my dentist about this sistuation he looked at the xray and sounded a little annoyed with her and proceeded to tell me this is just because I have short roots. My question is........ I do not have the best dental insurance it wll not cover specialist. If I wait 6 months to consult with this specialist about this tooth is the thing going to fall out of my mouth LOL? Help!
