What is the best mouthwash to use?

Posted on February 3, 2011

Which is the best/a great mouthwash to use? I don't mean the ones that just make your mouth smell good after using it, but the mouthwashes that are good for your teeth and gums and overall good oral hygiene?

I currently use Listerine Tartar Control (reads: ANTISEPTIC MOUTHWASH - Kills germs that cause Gingivitis) ,
is there a much better mouthwash? Is ACT a good/better choice to use?

Thanks!

Should I provoke bleeding in my gums to get rid of gingivitis faster?

Posted on February 1, 2011

I learned today from my orthodontist that I have gingivitis. I take fairly good care of my teeth, but I guess I need to take exceptional care of them. ;) Naturally, my mom was MAJORLY P.O.'d because "I spent thousands of dollars on your teeth and you can't even take care of them?!", but I do! I mean, I try. I brush every day, twice a day when possible (very very busy lifestyle, but I know brushing is very important) and floss about 3 times a week, since everyday is nearly impossible for me as well as use mouthwash everyday (The electric toothbrush is good for removing plaque, bad for killing bad-breath causing germs, so I need mouthwash every day.).

Will provoking the bleeding in my gums and using mouthwash often along with twice a day brushing and every night flossing get rid of my gingivitis quickly? I'm desperate! I need her off my back. hah. ;)

Do you rinse with mouth wash BEFORE or AFTER brushing?

Posted on January 5, 2011

I do after my husband before. I don't guess there's a right or wrong but I was wondering what others did....So, BEFORE or AFTER?
Yea, We just use regular Listerine. I like the minty fresh feeling I get from after too. He says it burns i you do it after and the same as the dad that you gotta brush away the germs. But I feel like if they are dead....99.9% of them anyway, then it's fine if they're there because they aren't coming back to life....I dunno. I may try before and after and see if I like that.

How do bad breath germs get into my mouth?

Posted on December 22, 2010

It seems that if I thoroughly brushed my teeth and used mouth wash that all of the bacteria in my mouth would be killed and i wouldn't have to think about it anymore.
How do the germs get there, and how do they spread/multiply so quickly? Thanks
