tooth pain but dentist says nothing wrong. Why?

Posted on March 6, 2011

I have hyper sensitivity on teeth 24 and 25. I experience pain and weakness of tooth too. teeth 24 is bit crooked too. at times the pain gets unbelievable. i went as dental emergency to dentist office. they took dental x-ray and said it looks good and there are no cavities. Told me to take motrin and put me on amoxillin. it didn't help. I went again to dentist and this time they put me on stronger pain med and another antibiotic. Still not satisfied I went 3rd time and then an endodontist over there saw me and said the same thing, "nothing seems wrong". When i insisted that I continue experiencing pain, sensitivity and weakness in teeth he said I need night-guard while sleeping. However, I am still not satisfied. The pain persists and dentist keeps saying nothing is wrong. I feel my gums are inflamed. On teeth 24 and 25 there is very rapid tartar and plaque growth. Tartar attacks these 2 teeth very aggressively despite regular brushing and flossing. I got a dental cleaning about 2 weeks back and tartar again seems to grow. I don't know if the rapid tartar and plaque formation on teeth 24 and 25 is connected to pain and sensitivity but as soon as its removed it grows back very fast. I use tartar control toothpaste but no use.
i used sensodyne toothpaste for sensitivity but it didn't help at all

Posted on March 5, 2011

Okay so I bought a new toothbrush that probably really sucked, because after using it like 3 times my gums are all bloody and it hurts to eat because food gets into the cuts. I threw the toothbrush away and got a new one, of course, but how can i get the cuts to stop bleeding and hurting?

Lip piercings and teeth?

Posted on March 5, 2011

I want one with a stud, but I heard they can cause your gums to recede and irritate your teeth. Is this true? Also, if I decide to take the piercing out i imagine it will leave a scar, so what's the smallest sized jewelry I can use?

Can brushing too much be a problem?

Posted on March 4, 2011

Can brushing your teeth too much be possible? Can it damage your teeth? I am a bit obsessive about this sort of thing. I brush twice daily, floss once a night, and use mouthwash when I brush. however, my girlfriend says i brush for too long when i do, usually like 3-5 minutes maybe. I still get cavities pretty often and i dont know what to do about this.I think it may be ruining my gums too. Any thoughts? whats the recommended regimen for oral cleanliness?
