I have horizontal lines in my front teeth. Are they caused from age or over brushing?

Posted on February 3, 2011

I do brush from side to side...it works for me (gets the gunk out) but I have noticed (in the past 2 years or so) that I have horizontal lines on my top two front teeth. Is it from brushing? Also, if you're a hygentist or dentist...is it really worth the money to buy those electronic toothbrushes that cost over 0? My husband really wants one.
I do drink 2 cups of black tea every morning.

crest white stips or listerine dissolving strips?

Posted on December 14, 2010

I love crest white strips, they whiten my teeth awesome,
with little sensitivity!
I am about to get a new box, but I'm thinking instead to get the new Listerine dissolving strips? I've read that they taste bad, they leave a "gunk" layer, blah blah..
But what I reallly want to know is do they whiten better then crest white strips?
Has anyone used both?
Which works BEST! :)
Thanks guys!

How can I get rid of all the plaque built up in my teeth?

Posted on November 26, 2010

I brush twice a day, floss thrice a day, and use a water flosser every night. There is nothing more I can think of. My teeth still have white plaquey buildup between them. What else can I do to get rid of the gunk?
I don't drink soda and I rarely eat any candy. I also take a daily multivitamin. I don't know where I'm going wrong with my diet...

Whats the weird stuff on my tongue and what does it mean?

I have this discoloration on my two front teeth and I think it might be..?

Posted on November 24, 2010

Hypocalcification or Hypoplasia . I was kind of embarrassed because someone made a comment on how he thought it was plaque. I've always made a habit of brushing and flossing at least twice a day; I even carry floss in my purse! How does someone confuse discoloration and gunk build-up? Is there any way to rectify these stains, whatever they may be?
The discoloration is very white and I have had it for as long as I can remember.

Does anyone know of a product or method that slowly reduces the amount of white gunk on your tongue daily and permanently?

Posted on October 4, 2010

I pulled off never brushing my teeth when I was 7,8,9 . I brush now (Im 14) regularaly but I think they are stained. I didnt brush today, or yesterday. But dont worry I brushed the day before that. So are they like super plaque and yellow gunk and stuff?

Umm the lighting makes my teeth look whiter in pictures. They look way worse than that in my families opinion, of coarse.

How come when I floss between a certain two tooths, the floss smells?

Posted on September 27, 2010

How come when I floss between a certain two tooths, the floss smells really bad. It just started happening recently, and also I would always get red gunk on it. It's really disgusting, how to get rid of it. This happened many times starting last week.
Ps: I wear braces since last year.

Edit: yes i use listerine, but now i use the less harsh vanilla listerine, maybe i should switch back. and lol when i floss it smells soooo bad, someone in the same room can smell it, my breath isn't bad though. I'm going to see my orthordontist soon, what should i ask him? :"i have an infection, what should i do?"

How to floss teeth without getting it all over the mirror?

Posted on September 11, 2010

I floss while looking in the mirror, and no matter how I do it, I always get bits of food and gunk all over the mirror. Does this happen to you? Am I doing something wrong? Also, I hate handling the stinky stuff with my fingers. Is that avoidable while using dental floss?
Won't I get bits of food all over the place (ie. on the floor, on the table, on people) regardless of where I stand?
