How much sugar can the average person ingest before they get diabetes?
Ok so I really love sugar. Some nights I'll even have 2 desserts and my dad always says I'm going to get fat and have diabetes and that I won't get insurance because the insurance company won't help me since I'll be in such bad shape. I wanted to know how many grams of sugar I should ingest a day so I can keep from getting diabetes.
Health Insurance cover mouth issue?
I don't have a dental coverage with my current health insurance . I recently went in for a cleaning and they saw a lesion they want to send me to a oral surgeon. I'm afraid if its cancerous I could be on the hook for a huge bill which wouldn't be covered if its considered "dental". I don't want to delay having it examined but I also don't want to ask my insurance company for fear of it being denied as pre-existing dental condition that I couldn't add coverage for. What should I do?
Thanks for the info. I'm sorry for your loss. This thing came out of the blue. Its a little white raised line at the back of my cheek. I'm only 37 and don't use any tobacco products but I'm worried. I'll see my primary doctor and ask to be seen by a ent specialist.
Is deep cleaning worth the hefty price tag?
Is deep cleaning worth the hefty price tag?
My dentist measured the distance btw gum and teeth and said that some are 3 and 4mm. The dental office is sending the results to my insurance company for authorization before doing a deep cleaning. Do you think deep cleaning is worth the hefty price (it'll be 0 deductible)? Can just flossing and regular brushing remove build up plaque?
I'm 25 years old and haven't been to a dentist in years. I don't have gum disease.

Shouldn't insurance company's cover more DENTAL work since your mouth can seriously effect overall health ?
If you have some oral health issues... that alone can cause, strokes, heart attacks, infections, and other serious general health issues which in turn would cost your insurance company FAR MORE than if they just paid more for you to get your teeth checked out say every 3 months. Am i right? My insurance company pays squat for dental, and needless to say i hadnt had a checkup in 18 months (opps) Well i went last week and found out i had a serious infection by my wisdom teeth! I have had to be on 3 rounds of antibiotics, in total which the insurance company paid 5 for. Now i have to have surgery to fix whatever is wrong, and they are now having to shell out 00 for this, and this isnt including my deductible. Sooo, wouldnt they just be smart to make me and pay to get check ups more often?
Question about health insurance and oral surgery?
I am getting health insurance through my employer but it does not include dental. If I have to get oral surgery, (after being referred by my dentist) could it be covered under my regular medical insurance?(since it is surgery and would not be done by my dentist, but by an oral surgeon) I realize I can find this out from the Insurance company, but I don't have the cards yet and the oral surgery is not certain. I would just like to be prepared before this all comes about.
