Oral Cancer: Treatment and Reconstruction

Posted on November 27, 2010

For months Carolyn Coogan pursued dental solutions for the pain in her jaw. Then an MRI revealed cancer. Coogan and Dr. Neal Futran, director of Otolaryngology -- Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center, recount the diagnosis and her available treatment options. Coogan's treatment crossed medical disciplines, involving surgeries to remove cancer and reconstruct the jaw, and installation of the dental prosthesis. The program includes still images from Coogan's jaw surgeries and models of the bones involved.

MassageNerd: MassageNerd.com FaceBook tinyurl.com FaceBook Group: tinyurl.com iStardom: tinyurl.com LinkedIn: tinyurl.com MassageBlogger: MassageBlogger.com Twitter tinyurl.com YouTube: tinyurl.com From: www.youtube.com I like watching the stretching videos...stretching is one of my favorite things to do. I have some pretty serious TMJ problems on the left side of my jaw and face. It went away for a month, but it's slowly starting to come back and I can't live with that pain again. Do you have any suggestions for stretching or anything to possibly help that? I'm going to be honest here in that my chiropractor isn't helping in that area at all. The pain went away on it's own...and some of the things she'll do to me make it hurt even when it wasn't. I've been a life long sufferer of headaches and if you have any tips that may help me I would appreciate that, especially as I'm going to be going into a pretty stressful field in the next few years with school and then finally working. Thank you for anything you can give me,

RE: Massage Inside Mouth for Bruxism

Posted on September 12, 2010

From: www.youtube.com Are there any self massage techniques for bruxism? I have alot of tension and often pain and soreness from the teeth grinding. Seeing a massage therapist is not an option for me right now, so I was hoping there was something I could do on my own, to relieve some of that tension in the jaw/neck/head area, that comes from the grinding. I could really use any bit of help. :)
