What toothpaste after a resin fill?
I just fixed a chipped tooth by getting a resin fill at the dentist. He puts an epoxy on the tooth and then he makes it look like new! My question is what toothpaste should I use so it does not degrade the epoxy fill? The last time I got this done, about after a month I noticed that my tooth looked like it was dull white rather than shiny white. I heard some toothpastes eat away at this resin. Does anyone know?
My mom went to a dentist to have her teeth cleaned. The next day one of her teeth got inflamed?
The dentist prescribed Tetracycline antibiotics and said that he would have to make a gum surgery. He wants to separate the gum from the tooth temporarily so that he could access the roots and the bone to remove plaque from it. My mom is 71. The last time she had a problem with the tooth was 30 years ago. That was the time when she had a crown installed on it. She never had a problem with the tooth. Never saw pus coming out of it. And now after having it cleaned it got inflamed. The X-rays test revealed that the tooth is ok. What the dentists says is that he just wants to remove plaque from the tooth below the gum. Is it really so necessary to do to my 71 years old mom? Is it dangerous for her health?
When the dentist was cleaning the tooth he accidentally damaged the gum. My mom felt pain and there was blood.
The tooth that got inflamed is a molar.
I have enough toothpaste to get my through the morning?
I'd like to switch it up a bit when I buy some and would like some suggestions. Last time I bought it I bought two tubes so I've been out of the aisle for a while. Can anyone recommend a paste that you like? About to finish off Aquafresh, how about a different brand that you have used and thoroughly enjoy?
Gingivitis or Periodontal Disease?
Hi, so when I went to the dentist about 2 years ago I was told I had gingivitis, & to improve brushing. So I did what I was told & when I went back to the dentist the last time they said my teeth & gums looked fine, but now I'm about to go back to get some teeth pulled & I'm terrified that they're gonna say I have periodontal disease. I'm basically just paranoid because I researched it :/. I have no bleeding in my gums & they are not red...what worries me is I just have a little tartar on 2 of my teeth, does this necessarily mean I have periodontal disease?

How do I make myself vomit?
No, I'm not bulimic or planning to become one.
I ate something that I think was bad for my stomach and I feel like it's just there and I feel very uncomfortable. Been feeling like this for hours. I think that if I just vomit it, I can feel better. I tried the toothbrush method, spinning around like crazy and shoving my whole hand in m throat and nothing happens. The last time I vomited was over 6 years ago.
Dentist denying forwarding my records/x-rays due to unpaid bill?
When I lived in Seattle, I saw a dentist once, and his son (also a dentist with his own practice) twice. Once for routine, again when I was sure I had a cavity, and again when the tooth with the cavity had pain.
I was told it was not a cavity, and that it was "just decay" and that they would "put a watch on it." Now, my insurance was giving them hell about paying, even though I had full dental insurance. They had to resubmit for each visit many times. The last time, though I was still covered and verified this with insurance, the office claims insurance denied the claim, and that I owe them 0. I have not paid this due to current financial strain. (You know, keeping electricity and water on.)
Anyway, just recently, this tooth I was having issue with BROKE. Now, I take insanely good care of my teeth, to the point of where strangers compliment my 'beautiful smile.'
Now that I'm back in Massachusetts, I went to my family dentist, who's great, the day after the tooth broke, and was told I needed a root canal and a crown. :( Cue a bill of almost ,000.
My dentist wants those x-rays and records. *I* want those X-rays and records because if this was caused by negligence on their part, of their not finding an obvious cavity and ignoring my pleas for help and a filling...I will be getting an attorney to insure these dental bills are compensated. :(
So my major question is, do they legally have the right to deny me access to my dental records due to a bill being unpaid? I *was* insured and do not know why the insurance was denied (we had separate dental, not just supplemental) for a routine checkup.
I thought that under the Freedom of Information Act, any records they had on me could be obtained at any time, regardless of financial standing, since this impacts my oral health, and so, overall health.
Any help would be appreciated, and sorry for the long-windedness; I just wanted to cover all bases.
Dentist/or dental student question..brown stain between two upper front teeth?
Ok it's a dark brown stain and I'm going to make an appointment because for awhile I wasn't on my mother's dental plan (got taken off dads) and I was only making enough payments for my car which were about 0/month at the time, so I couldn't really afford a dental cleaning because I wasn't making enough to reimburse the amount that would be deduced from my bank account.
So I have been for awhile..late summer, so starting from that time (because I was overdue for a cleaning the last time, which at that point I wasn't on a plan) it's been six months, I know, procrastination not good..been 3 months since my sis went in so she's on my moms plan and isn't in school (i am now) so poor excuse for not going sooner but I had to be sure considering that extra cash taken out for it would have been double with the car payments, which that amount included insurance.
So, anyway, the real question is is it a stain? Like I read online it could be from coffee tea, which I drink, but I floss, brush, and use mouth wash everyday (faithfully), so plaque couldn't have accumulated that much, unless it's the hard stuff, but I do floss and brush. I'm pretty anal about teeth now (took me long enough to be since I didn't care as a child) because I absolutely hate the drills and I wear a retainer because I had braces but this stain appeared a short time ago, sometime in mid to late december. Or rather I noticed it out of the blue, so can anyone that knows about this can help? I'd like to set this worry aside now before calling. Also, I know it looks like something is stuck there but isn't, trust me, flossed, picked at it, looked in a mirror, it's a stain. But there is no pain whatsoever. Can anyone help?
Thanks for the answer! I also forgot to mention that this is the first time it's ever happened, so that's why I guessed it was a stain.
Also, if it was a cavity, aside from sensitivity or pain, wouldn't I be able to see some form of decay anyway considering it's in between the front two because it's up at the front instead of being hidden in the back? Will choose best answer tomorrow, thank you so much! Helped put my worry aside :)
knowing it can be polished off (which is what I guessed could be done with special dental tools) is a good piece of mind :) And the no whitener stuff to get it off my self is good advice :) It can be expensive anyway.
