Is it possible to not have tooth cavity for whole life?
So i am a person who really takes care of my oral hygiene, but its not say i will floss, gargle listerine and brush my teeth like 6 times a day... i do keep it a minimum of 2 times of thorough teeth brushing with fluoride toothpaste for when i wake up and before i go to bed. I strictly have to brush my teeth everyday twice because its become a part of me. if i dont brush my teeth, especially before bed, i feel uneasy and that somthing is missing. i will occasionally floss my teeth when i feel like it or maybe 1 or 2 times week or if theres something stuck between my teeth. I dont use mouthwash at all, i'll just give my mouth a thorough rinse of water. So thats about my daily regime of oral hygiene. I've never had a tooth decay, cavity, or holes in my teeth in my life till now but i was just wondering, can you really not get tooth cavities for your whole life or should a person have it atleast once? i have a feeling that this is something people can't escape and they would experience it atleast a few times in their life. Also, with my current ways of oral hygiene, will i be able to escape cavities for life?
so i got my tounge pierced the piercer didnt really go over the aftercare but if i rinse with listerine?
so i got my tounge pierced the piercer didnt really go over the aftercare but if i rinse with listerine and water, also salt mixed with water brush my teeth and the ring and not smoke and not talk too much it will heal fine right...? cos its only been a day but my tounge is a little swollen which id think would be normal... but any tips?
Do I still have gingivitis?
I had bad gingivitis for months and finally went to the dentist - he gave a thorough cleaning and my gums stopped bleeding for a couple days.
I floss and brush as he told me to, but it's been two weeks now and one spot in my gums still bleeds when I brush. He said it would be normal for a week and that it would stop on its own, but it's not really getting better.
I'm using listerine for plaque and gingivitis as well as a better grade tooth paste.
Will it take even longer than I thought to go away or should I go back to the dentist?
Teeth Whitening – Day 1
I'm documenting how the Listerine Whitening strips work. UPDATE: They might taste so bad because the box we purchased says "Use By 10 2009" :P
Dentist:is this a okay dental regime?
I would like it if a dentist could preferably help me here? Well, I am 13 and I have always kind of "obsessed" over my teeth. I had my braces taken out at new year and my teeth are perfectly straight and white. No stains or nothing. My dentist said my teeth are one of the whitest shades you can get, so there is no point in whitening them. It wont really make a difference, so I'm wasting my money.People say I am too obsessed my teeth are perfect, but I just love white straight teeth. Ok so anyway, I was wondering if I maybe brush too much? This is my regime:
Night~
I use Colgate Anti-Tartar Plus Whitening*
I brush my teeth with my electric toothbrush (Oral-B) for 3-4 minutes, if i only do it for 2 i feel like they aren't clean. And i rinse
Then i use a normal toothbrush and brush my teeth again for around a minute. Rinse
Then i floss all spaces between my teeth and the very back ones. I can't do my front six or bottom because i have a wire behind them which is coming off in march. then i rinse my teeth for any remaining plaque.
Then i use Listerine's Total Care Clean Mint mouthwash.
Morning~
Basically the same as above i just miss out the flossing i do that every night.
I brush my teeth twice a day and i eat chewing gum throughout the day as I am at school.
i was wondering if maybe this is too much and i am brushing away my enamel? And also, any recomendations to a good whitening toothpaste that also removes any plaque? I am very interested in dental stuff and I am planning on becoming one when i am older. Thanks for reading x
Also, at the bottom of my front four teeth and bottom four teeth they are slightly clear. I know it's not a very big thing, but should i worry about it? because it is ever so slightly clear and i have jagged bits but i know they will wear down in time. Thanks again! x
What should I get my boyfriend to stop his gingivitis once & for all?
We use Crest Pro Health mouth wash I do 1-2x per day but he only does once. We also floss daily & I got him the Crest 360 spin brush pro tooth brush which seems to help a lot. Also are you supposed to change tooth brushes every 3 months or 6? He smokes about a pack a day which if he would quit I'm almost guaranteeing that the gingivitis would almost be gone. I've had some gum problems but use a peroxide swish about once a day to treat mine, but he refuses to.
Any suggestions?
Thanks about the Listerine, I use the peroxide swish according to the directions on the bottle (use equal amount of water per amount of peroxide) because I sometimes have bleeding gums & sore teeth & it helps a lot.
A dental assistant told me I have Gingivitis…?
Yet nobody told me what to do about it. There was so much going on, my mouth was numb from a from-hell cleaning, I had 5 different x-rays and then the dentist told me that my 24 and 25 teeth are baby teeth and that I'm missing teeth 7 and 10 which may not have ever existed due to something possibly congenital in my family line.
I do see that my gums are a little red and puffy. I brush 2-3 times a day, and floss at least once a day (so far, I've been unable to figure out the real number of times to floss in a day). I also use Listerine.
What works to kills Gingivitis? Listerine doesn't seem to do anything, and the dentist/dental assistant didn't give me anything.
