I have a beautiful face but my teeth are very crooked? HELP?

Posted on May 22, 2011

I am 11 years old but a lot of boys tell me I am ugly. Except for 2 of them, who say I am cute and have an awesome personality. Here are the things wrong with me, please telll me how to fix. Also don't say I shouldn't be worrying about it, because when I am/feel ugly I am stressed.

-Crooked teeth. My teeth are pearly white, but my two front teeth are different lengths, I have two baby teeth sticking out on either side of my two front teeth, my molars are missing (just lost them). And on the bottom they are just plain old crooked.

-I have minor acne but I get stressed a lot so I breakout. When I am not stressed and I am enjoying myself, I forget to wash my face.

-My hair is VERY VERY VERY VERY frizzy and wavy! I use anti-frizz shampoo, but it doesn't work that well. It is curly underneath and straight on the top layer.

-I have hairy hands, feet, legs, and arms. I use Nair on it but that isn't enough.

HELP HELP HELP HELP PLEASE!

A few questions about my teeth?

Posted on May 3, 2011

Okay first of all I like to discuss about my tooth. I want to ask another question, but my health comes first.
Last time i went to my aunts house she had popcorn varieties of them like caramel, pink, yellow, and all that. It was almost gone and i grabbed a handful. I put half of my handful of popcorn in my mouth. I didn't think there was kernels so I was careless. I just bit and one of my tooth was weird. I thought it was something in between my tooth. I kept picking at it. Then a white hard thing broke off, then I was relieved it was gone. I realized that it was a part of my tooth the one that is 3 away from the back (I don't have wisdom teeth as you can tell). I picked at my tooth with my tongue and realized I chipped it when I accidently chewed on a kernel. I looked into the mirror and I saw a another tooth growing in already. I told my dad and he said I should go to a dentist. I totally agree. But that was like months ago. I still haven't went to a dentist. The tooth does not hurt. Not at all. In fact I haven't lost all my baby teeth yet. The one I'm talking about is the last one. In my previous years I had early in growing teeth like 3 times already. Since my tooth is chipped, it broke in half but it is still connected to my gums. The front half where it shows is very loose. but the one in the back is like barely moving. I just need help should i see a dentist or should I see if my tooth comes out just normally as I used to do early in growing teeth. Sorry best I can explain any questions I would try and answer. Just email me and tell me: courtney.mindee@yahoo.com

Also, my other question is where does the wisdom teeth grow? I know it's behind the molars, but where? on the gums or behind, behind where it is no gums? please tell me. Any other suggestions about having healthy teeth please tell me.

If you don't understand about MY tooth story then please ask I want to know my answer to my question. Just email me: courtney.mindee@yahoo.com

Canker Sores or Herpes?

Posted on April 30, 2011

Okay, well lately i've been getting a lot of what i think are canker sores. Like all over my mouth. They really hurt. At one point i thought it was because of my molars coming in but now there on the roof of my mouth too. Ouch!

But lately i've been thinking about the last guy i made out with. If he had a cold sore when we were making out. But the thing is, i haven't made out with him (or anyone else) since like July maybe? I haven't noticed them this bad until now.

How would I know if they were Oral Herpes or Canker Sores?

Canker Sores or Herpes? ?

Any ideas on how to get a 3 year old to brush her teeth or assist her in brushing her teeth? She has had some?

Posted on March 9, 2011

dental issues due to perscription antibiotics for an ear infection when she was a baby. I only let her have water after i brush her teeth, no candy, and i also try to substitute sugar free whenever possible, but my trouble is in brushing her teeth. She clenches them closed, refusing to allow me to brush anything but her front teeth. I have tried time outs for not cooperating and I have tried special incentives for good behavior, nothing seems to work.... Please anyone with ideas I would love to hear them. Thursday I have to spend close to 900.00 to repair molars, I can't afford much more so I need to try preventative maintenence, but how??????????????????????????

What happened to my tooth?

Posted on February 23, 2011

For background, I'm a twenty-four-year-old female with excellent dental hygiene. I always brush and floss, and have never had a cavity or gum problems in my life. I am one of those people who just have any dental problems. No plaque, no bad breath, no gum issues, no sensitivity...I've been using a Reach flosser and various sonic toothbrushes for years, and I've never used any whitening products ever because I'm worried that I'll hurt my teeth.

I've been using the same toothpaste (Crest Complete, day and night versions) and then rinsing with ACT fluoride mouthwash for years, and I wasn't consuming anything weird or acidic or otherwise bad or taking any medications. I eat a good diet, I take vitamins, and I wasn't making out with anybody who could have given me mouth herpes or something.

About a month ago, I started getting sensitivity in the upper right quadrant of my mouth and thought that I'd finally gotten a cavity, but it went away the next day and I had intermittent pain for about a week. Then one day I woke up and my mouth hurt so bad that I almost couldn't stand it, but I was broke, so I didn't go to the dentist.

One of my molars on that side -- second to the back -- was sticking out ridiculously far as if it was significantly longer than any of my other teeth and if anything touched it (including my tongue), it would hurt so bad. When I tried to floss in between that tooth and the back tooth, it took ALL of my strength to push the floss through as if that tooth and the very back tooth had suddenly become too close together. This happened literally overnight, and by the end of that day, the cheek side of my gum started hurting. I developed a sore along the top of the gum on that side that went from the back of my mouth to my incisors in about a week. It felt like an extra flap of skin and then turned into what I can only describe as a long, rectangular blister.

It hurt SO much. Seriously. It hurt worse than when I had pancreatitis last year.

The only thing I did was I kept brushing and flossing and started using G.U.M Rincinol. A week later, these blister like sores started peeling off my gum, leaving raw gums behind that healed normally. The sensitivity continued and the tooth was still jutting out too far, but now, everything is fine. It's like none of this ever happened and there's no pain, no sensitivity, no problems flossing, and my tooth is back to it's normal place.

I've googled and I didn't find anything that really sounded like what I went through.

I don't have a lot of money, so going to the dentist is something I only want to do if I'm totally screwed. The pain is gone, I have no symptoms, but I would feel so much better if I just understood what happened and if it's a sign that something else is happening that I need to get medical attention for.

Please don't respond with 'go to a dentist' as I am avoiding doing that because I'm busted for money right now and if I could afford to do that, I wouldn't be asking here.

Thank you for your time. Any advice is appreciated. :)
Update: Thank you to the first responder.

I'd like to add that I'm using Crest Pro-Health not Crest Complete. I have no idea why I typed that.

Also, I'm twenty-four as I said and according to dental x-rays I've had in the past, I have wisdom teeth, but they haven't actually made an appearance yet. I'm not sure if wisdom teeth could cause the sores in my mouth though.

Gums bleed when I brush them, Dentist says to just keep brushing?

Posted on February 23, 2011

okay, so like some, my gums (mostly the top side areas above the molars) bleed when I brush them. My dentist advises me to just keep brushing them and gave me a cheap tooth brush with "Gum massaging bristles".

Is this serious?

Poor teeth – is it genetic?

Posted on February 23, 2011

I've had 11 cavaties over the past year. No one believes me when I say that I really do brush my teeth twice a day (1-2 minutes each), floss every day, and use Act fluoride rinse. My mom has had 4 root canals, my dad had all his teeth pulled when he was 17, could it be genetic? The dentists I've been to don't seem to think so, but clearly something is wrong.
I stopped drinking pop and coffee, stopped eating snacks between meals. That helped for a year or two, but now the cavaties are back. Most often in the molars.
I did have a child 19 months ago and the hormones can last up to 3-5 years from a pregnancy, could it be that?
Please help, my dentist thinks I'm an idiot and this is embarrassing. Any suggestions?

is it normal for your gums to be larger in braces?

Posted on February 4, 2011

ive had braces over a year and a half and over the last couple of months they are larger (taking more of the tooth than before for the top molars and are bigger inbetween teeth on my bottom teeth), they are still pink though, and they don't brush when i bleed. When I floss/waterpik (manual waterpik) they may bleed a little cos of the poking and prodding but the blood does not stay or turn my gums red and when i brush the blood off it goes away so it's not gingivitis or anything. It was like this last time I saw my dentist for a cleaning and afterwards my gums stayed the same and she had got all the plaque and stuff away in the cleaning but she didn't say my hygiene was bad or anything and she has been my dentist for 5 years so she'd tell me if there was anything. If it is just normal with braces, will they go back to their original size after they're off. Just want to say my gums are NOT receding.

Do I have gingivitis?? Gum problems.?

Posted on January 18, 2011

1 - 2 weeks ago, I had little blisters(bumps) on my tongue. Only one would appear either at the left, right or tip of my tongue. After it healed, another one would appear at another side of my tongue & so on. What is this??

Earlier this week, it healed but now the problem is my gums, both top & bottom. They are really sore & they really hurt. I think on my bottom gums, at the lower part there is a huge horizontal bump along my molars. Only the gums near my molars hurt.

I brush my teeth twice a day everyday & I floss at night right before I brush my teeth. I have not missed once ever in brushing or flossing for a very very long time. I also do not smoke, do drugs, or drink alcohol.

Do I have gingivitis?? If not, what??
Thanks in advance for any help. :)
Are canker sores curable??
