Will a retainer move my teeth back in place after i just got my braces off?

i got my braces off on monday. today i went to the dentist and she used a metal pointy thing to clean the plaque in between my teeth but the problem is she shoved the tool in there and created a space between two of my teeth and I dont get my retainer until monday. When i do get it will it get rid of the gap that wasnt there when i got my braces off and when the mold for my retainer was orignially taken?
Is it possible for mold to grow on toothbrushes?

When I was brushing my teeth today, I tasted this awful taste in my toothbrush. When I spit, I looked down and saw black dots. (Just like the black dots I saw in a container when I didn't wash it for eight days.) I'm not sure if it's the toothpaste, mold on the toothbrush, or something in my mouth. Please help!
