Dentist denying forwarding my records/x-rays due to unpaid bill?
When I lived in Seattle, I saw a dentist once, and his son (also a dentist with his own practice) twice. Once for routine, again when I was sure I had a cavity, and again when the tooth with the cavity had pain.
I was told it was not a cavity, and that it was "just decay" and that they would "put a watch on it." Now, my insurance was giving them hell about paying, even though I had full dental insurance. They had to resubmit for each visit many times. The last time, though I was still covered and verified this with insurance, the office claims insurance denied the claim, and that I owe them 0. I have not paid this due to current financial strain. (You know, keeping electricity and water on.)
Anyway, just recently, this tooth I was having issue with BROKE. Now, I take insanely good care of my teeth, to the point of where strangers compliment my 'beautiful smile.'
Now that I'm back in Massachusetts, I went to my family dentist, who's great, the day after the tooth broke, and was told I needed a root canal and a crown. :( Cue a bill of almost ,000.
My dentist wants those x-rays and records. *I* want those X-rays and records because if this was caused by negligence on their part, of their not finding an obvious cavity and ignoring my pleas for help and a filling...I will be getting an attorney to insure these dental bills are compensated. :(
So my major question is, do they legally have the right to deny me access to my dental records due to a bill being unpaid? I *was* insured and do not know why the insurance was denied (we had separate dental, not just supplemental) for a routine checkup.
I thought that under the Freedom of Information Act, any records they had on me could be obtained at any time, regardless of financial standing, since this impacts my oral health, and so, overall health.
Any help would be appreciated, and sorry for the long-windedness; I just wanted to cover all bases.

is there such a thing as brushing teeth too much?
i definitely brush my teeth more than 3 times a day, about 5 times.everytime i put something in my mouth.my teeth squeaks when it's dry! i guess it remains a habit after having my braces off.
i just want to know if it will cause any damage, is it harmful for my oral health?
What type of ice cream do you eat after dental surgery?
Myself I look for full cream buttermilk ice cream.
I think the less sugar the better.
Thickened cream with no sugar would be best.
Sugar is bad for oral health so you might want to give preference to dairy fats rather than sugary ice cream.

I saw a commercial where a woman opens her mouth to talk and an alarm goes off. What dental co-assn is it for?
In the commercial, two women are jogging. One woman goes to ask the other a question and when she tries to answer an alarm/ siren blares instead of words coming out. At the end of the commercial, she jogs past an older woman and the older woman says something along the lines of "that's not good" or "you should see a dentist".
I wanted to reference this commercial in my oral health project. I need to know either the company or organization the commercial in promoting. (Perhaps a link to a video of the commercial) Please Help, Thanks
What will happen if you don’t have periodontal disease treated?
Someone I know has it and that person doesn't want to do anything about it. We had to practically force her to go to the dentist to begin with (by giving her some pills for her to relax) because she's afraid of going. (Something happened to her when she was a kid and now she's scarred of the dentist) So I would like to know what will happen if she doesn't do anything about it. Her oral health is already in bad shape as it is.
Yes I do know that we shouldn't have gave her pills to calm down.
Please only serious answers. I need help convincing her, and I'm hoping that if she reads what other ppl say about it, than maybe she will change her mind. Man I hope so, anyway.
What causes severe stomach pain, vomiting, dysentery, and lots of belching?
My husband has been sick for years with these problems and they have been getting worse. Doctors have repeatedly misdiagnosed him and he is still experiencing stabbing pains and burning in his abdomen along with chest pain, vomiting, dysentery, belches with foul odors, and the acid from his stomach is starting to affect his oral health. He is currently on Nexium but it does no good, it only makes him sicker. I'm thinking he has Chronic Erosive Gastritis or some kind of peptic ulcer, but the doctors still are unsure. Has anybody had this problem and possibly know what is going on? I feel like whatever this sickness is has been taking my husband away from me for quite some time, and I'm worried that it might eventually cause his death.
