My gums have been bleeding sporadically more often, suggestions?

Posted on March 17, 2011

my gums have always bled, especially since I have gingivitis. But I noticed recently it has been everyday out of the blue. I have been on a new diet, could this be why?

Anything that could help it? I heard about Coenzyme Q10? any suggestions would help thanks.

Only serious answers will be considered for best answer.

Dentist/or dental student question..brown stain between two upper front teeth?

Posted on November 19, 2010

Ok it's a dark brown stain and I'm going to make an appointment because for awhile I wasn't on my mother's dental plan (got taken off dads) and I was only making enough payments for my car which were about 0/month at the time, so I couldn't really afford a dental cleaning because I wasn't making enough to reimburse the amount that would be deduced from my bank account.

So I have been for awhile..late summer, so starting from that time (because I was overdue for a cleaning the last time, which at that point I wasn't on a plan) it's been six months, I know, procrastination not good..been 3 months since my sis went in so she's on my moms plan and isn't in school (i am now) so poor excuse for not going sooner but I had to be sure considering that extra cash taken out for it would have been double with the car payments, which that amount included insurance.

So, anyway, the real question is is it a stain? Like I read online it could be from coffee tea, which I drink, but I floss, brush, and use mouth wash everyday (faithfully), so plaque couldn't have accumulated that much, unless it's the hard stuff, but I do floss and brush. I'm pretty anal about teeth now (took me long enough to be since I didn't care as a child) because I absolutely hate the drills and I wear a retainer because I had braces but this stain appeared a short time ago, sometime in mid to late december. Or rather I noticed it out of the blue, so can anyone that knows about this can help? I'd like to set this worry aside now before calling. Also, I know it looks like something is stuck there but isn't, trust me, flossed, picked at it, looked in a mirror, it's a stain. But there is no pain whatsoever. Can anyone help?
Thanks for the answer! I also forgot to mention that this is the first time it's ever happened, so that's why I guessed it was a stain.

Also, if it was a cavity, aside from sensitivity or pain, wouldn't I be able to see some form of decay anyway considering it's in between the front two because it's up at the front instead of being hidden in the back? Will choose best answer tomorrow, thank you so much! Helped put my worry aside :)

knowing it can be polished off (which is what I guessed could be done with special dental tools) is a good piece of mind :) And the no whitener stuff to get it off my self is good advice :) It can be expensive anyway.

Health Insurance cover mouth issue?

Posted on August 31, 2010

I don't have a dental coverage with my current health insurance . I recently went in for a cleaning and they saw a lesion they want to send me to a oral surgeon. I'm afraid if its cancerous I could be on the hook for a huge bill which wouldn't be covered if its considered "dental". I don't want to delay having it examined but I also don't want to ask my insurance company for fear of it being denied as pre-existing dental condition that I couldn't add coverage for. What should I do?
Thanks for the info. I'm sorry for your loss. This thing came out of the blue. Its a little white raised line at the back of my cheek. I'm only 37 and don't use any tobacco products but I'm worried. I'll see my primary doctor and ask to be seen by a ent specialist.

Bad breath?

Posted on July 14, 2010

I'm 16 and yesterday out of the blue i got really bad breath. I have good oral hygiene. I have never had this bad of breath before. My bad breath won't go away, no matter how many times i brush and rinse. If it helps i have also have a little sore throat that started yesterday too. What could be causing this? How do i make it go away?
