Does Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate in toothpaste cause canker sores?

Posted on April 9, 2011

I know that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate causes them, anyone know about this detergent in relation mouth ulcers?
Reality Jack, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I went from using common toothpastes with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate to pastes without it and I noticed a big decrease.

why do fair skinned, blonde haired people have naturally yellower teeth?

Posted on December 14, 2010

ive noticed that people (like me) that are extremely fair skinned toned with blonde hair have yellow teeth. not bad its just a naturally yellow-er tone. i try and whiten my teeth with pastes and mouthwash and it just never really does anything. is it just an apperance that they are yellow cause we are so light colored and darker people have more contrast against their teeth??

What is the most abrasive toothpaste for removing stains?

I have heard that Euthymol and Eucryl are good, but I don't know which one is more abrasive, or indeed if there are are any better pastes out there for said purpose.

Improving decalcification and masking facial cavity fillings?

Posted on August 19, 2010

I have noticeable decalcifation as a result of a lengthy braces treatment on the gum lines of my two front teeth. This is very noticeable when I smile. I also have white cavity fillings on the bottom of my lower front teeth which is even more obvious but not as embarrasing because it doesn't show AS much when I smile.

I would like to have this corrected and am considering veneers, however I'd imagine veneers on the affected teeth would force me to get veneers on the bordering teeth as well or it would give an inconsistent appearance.

I will also be getting jaw surgery within 2 years and I'm not sure if that will affect anything. I hope I can get veneers after the surgery.

I've heard of alternatives such as special fluoride, pastes, and bleachings but I do not know which would be the most effective. I'm concerned bleeching will simply make my teeth look too white or not white enough, or not correct any slight very light yellow which would not match well with the decalicfifation.

Do you know of any specific products that are affordable that have minimal risk? I am not sure if I can use crest white strips because I have a retainer and am supposed to wear it 24/7.

Is there a such thing as brushing too much?

Posted on August 12, 2010

Ok, well. I have never really thought anything of it so I havent asked my dentist, but all my friends and even my husband mention that maybe I brush my teeth too much. I usually brush 3 times a day and I floss everyday. I use 3 different tooth brushes and 3 different pastes ( 1 kind for each time I brush) Sometime I brush 4-6 times a day depending on if I have a snack or a nasty taste in my mouth. Is brushing your teeth too much a bad thing?

did you know that plaque isn't real?

Posted on July 25, 2010

Plaque is a figment of the liberal media and the dental industry to scare you into buying useless appliances and pastes. Now, I've read the arguments on both sides, and I haven't found any evidence yet to support the need to brush your teeth. Ever.
