Viral throat infections, canker sores, sore gums, infected tongue, and pregnant please help!?

Posted on May 17, 2011

For almost a week I have had all of these symptoms (except the pregnant part. I'm 6 months.) but i hate to be selfish to my baby bcuz I can't eat anything at all without it being excruciatingly painful! I already lost 3 pounds this week from not being able to eat or swallow anything, i dont want to have to do that to my baby but I feel like wen I eat my teeth will fall out. I have good dental hygiene too, i go to the dentist more than twice a year for my cleaning so what is going on? I have tried the salt and water technique-didnt work! I did it three times a day for 5 minutes and the canker sores just keep getting worse! It's so bad my whole face and lips are swelling...(and trust me it's not the baby, I have only gained 18 pounds out of my pregnancy and my face didnt look like what it did a week ago.) I tried listerine, canker sore patches, tylenol but nothing is working! I finally made my appointment for the dentist and it's tomorrow but I was just wondering what if he couldnt help me?! I can't even sleep because of the pain. It wakes me up every hour so for this whole week after three hours of waking up i just stay up because I can't stand trying to sleep anymore! but when I stay up i get chills and i will be freezing but i will drench my blankets and pjs in sweat! plz does anyone know what will help me?

thank you for reading my question.

How come my gums bleed after brushing?

Posted on April 24, 2011

When I use the normal bristle toothbrush (not the electric one!) when I spit in to the sink, their is blobs and patches of blood, I think it is coming from the upper right gum near the back, I told my mum and she said maybe you're brushing to hard.

Am I brushing to hard or do I have gum disease?

Thanks for answers!

How to get rid of back pain?

Posted on April 20, 2011

I dunno what's up with my back, it just fucking hurts. The top left bit of it. It's not the spine or anything, I think it's the muscle. And my neck feels dead shitty too, I keep needing to twist my back and neck and look up to stretch my neck and that and I look like a twat lol

I'm in so much pain, it's been like this for two weeks. I've used heat patches and changed my mattress and stuff, but none of that works.

What can I do?

I have been using colgate 3d white toothpaste and i noticed white patches?

i've been using it for a couple weeks now and on my front two teeth on top i've noticed i have like white patches.
does that mean its working ?

I think I have gingivitis (or even worse)…?

About four years ago I visited the dentist and had my last cleaning (I've been 95% cavity-free all my life), but had to return to see a hygenist and get my gums "scraped" (great fun that was). I went back to school for three years and now am having problems again. My gums bleed ALL the time, especially when I brush or floss (I brish often but, admittedly, have slacked off on the flossing the last couple of years). In addition, I have "old man" breath and it's getting to be embarrassing since I work in customer service. I will be getting dental insurance in about three months and want to wait to see the dentist until then. In the meantime, there are small white puffy patches above my two front teeth. The best temporary solution I can find is rinsing with hydrogen peroxide, but that's only temporary. What can I do in the meantime until I'm eligible for dental insurance?

Teeth and Flourosis… I'm at the end of my Tether?

When I was a baby I had perfect teeth. My milk teeth were absolutely pristine. But when I was 5 and lost my first tooth, it came through with bad fluoride damage. Dark yellow, brown and white patches were all over my new adult tooth and the enamel looked very thin and opaque. This is how all my teeth came through. I lived in an area with a lot of fluoride in its water supplies etc. when I was young and it obviously affected my teeth badly...

I've known I have bad fluoride damage since I was quite young. I've had multiple fillings in order to protect my teeth as most of the enamel chipped off them as soon as they came through and several procedures where the dentist has coated my teeth in a protective sealing agent. That was several years ago now, and the sealing agent has completely gone exposing weak teeth. Since then I've also had 3 more dentists, all of whom have had different opinions on what should be done with my teeth.

Three of my front teeth grew through chipped and are now really sensitive whenever I eat and it can be quite painful (especially if I eat anything acidic or with a lot of sugar), and one back tooth came through with a rough edge that the dentist always pokes his pokey thing into and it sticks there! D:

About 2 years ago I woke up one morning and felt something in my mouth. A chip of my bottom left canine had come off for no apparent reason. And when I inspect my teeth, they are the teeth literally of a 40 year old. I have no 'grooves' left like my friends (and I haven't had grooves since I was about 10) because the enamel has worn down very quickly. Now my front teeth feel too flat at the bottom and are really really sensitive. My enamel looks weak and see-through.

My parents are aware of my problems and do their best to help me through everything. I used to be fed up (and still am) with the endless remarks from people I get about my teeth because they assume I don't brush them properly!

The most recent procedure I have had was about 6 months ago. My dentist attempted to whiten my front teeth a bit by grinding down the remaining thin amount of enamel and coating them in a whitish sealant. Let's just say it didn't quite go to plan and has caused more problems than it was worth.

I really am at the end of my tether with this!
I'm only 16 and my current dentist wants to put veneers on my teeth but I have to wait until at least my wisdom teeth have come through and settled, which could be when I am around 22!

I don't really know why I'm putting this up on here. It would be great to have some help and tips or advice about fluorosis. Maybe I'd just like to know I'm not the only one going through this.

Funny thing is, my teeth happen to be perfectly straight. Absolutely no need for braces at all! :)
Oh just to add to this, I'm in the UK too!
