How ong does canker sores, a type of mouth ulcer persist?

Posted on September 6, 2010

I have a very painful sore/ulcer on the palate since 4 days. My doc says it was triggered by drug reaction -I had just prior to the outbreak. Applying TESS (Triamcinolone Acetonide) on the area, using chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwash & having Rebamipide tabs for fast healing and Cefuroxime Axetil antibiotic tablet that has no effect on healing. Anyone suffered the same? What time it takes for remission? What blood test is necessary for ruling out other possibilities? Answer from experienced & proffessional pl.

i had a filling and it is still sensitive?

Posted on August 9, 2010

i had a small cavity filled on feb. 23 and it still is a little painful (its not horrible but i have noticed that i avoid eating on that side)

i had to take my brother to the dentist on march 19 so i mentioned it to him and he checked to see if my bite was off - it wasn't. he told me that rarely, but sometimes teeth can be sensitive after a filling and on top of it i was bleaching my teeth (which can cause sensitivity on its own) so that was probably the problem (although i wasn't comp. sold on sensitivity bc of the bleaching bc my other teeth weren't and i wasn't really bleaching that tooth bc its all the way in the back)

so he told me to just use a fluoride mouthwash (which i already do) and that should help with the pain/sensitivity

well i am still having pain/sensitivity in that tooth and wondering could it still be from what he said it was? or is it possible that he didn't get all the cavity out? (i am still using the mouthwash and have been done bleaching my teeth for a little over 2 weeks)

just looking for possibilities, i actually have another appointment with him in like a week for something else so if im still having problems with this i can ask him then

thanks :)

What to do with an enamel deficiency?

Posted on July 27, 2010

Hey!

Recently I have been feeling excruciatingly painful sensitive teeth, and so I went to my dentist for help. She told me that I had no enamel on the top surfaces of two of my molars.

So knowing that I have no enamel, what can I do to stop the pain? She told me that there wasn't much to do short of a root-canal.
She tried giving me some heavy fluoride rinses, fluoride caps, everything, but none of it was to any avail.

Right now I use a topical formula called miPaste, which restores fluoride into the tooth. Along with Sensodyne, this has been working well... until now.

As of now, simply breathing or rubbing ANYTHING onto the two teeth cause me heavy pain.

I do not grind my teeth, and I rarely eat or drink acidic items.
We've gone over all the possibilities, and nothing seems to show.

As I'm only 14, I don't want to get a Root Canal, or have the tooth replaced.

What can I do to stop the pain?

Thanks!

What causes dark brown or black stains on teeth?

Posted on July 25, 2010

I have been to the dentist a few months back for a standard checkup. My teeth were fine until recently. I also started using Listerine complete a few weeks ago, just an FYI. I have previously used a fluoride rinse for years but could not find it in the UK and had to switch to Listerine. I noticed 3 of my front bottom teeth were turning brown down by the gum in front and between the teeth. I also noticed the space between my 2 front upper teeth turning slightly brown too. The bottom teeth seemed worse in the back. I brush at least twice a day and floss. How can this suddenly happen at once? The only thing I can think of is it might be the Listerine since it seemed to happen shortly after I started using it. Could there be any other possibilities other than cavities?
