I'm more or less at my wits end. Every doctor I go to tells me that the xrays and MRI are showing nothing wrong with me and that I need to exercise.
I'm 22 years old, I shouldn't be having chronic back pain that has no apparent cause. And at very least if it were a muscle strain I'd figure that 8 months would have been plenty of time for it to heal. I'm not in that bad of shape, I walk 2 or 3 miles a day.
I have more or less written off medication as a simple mask of the problem. The problem to me isn't the pain, it's whatever is causing the pain. In a way I'd rather deal with the pain until the real problem is identified and gotten rid of so it can serve as a reminder. I'm not sure my exercising is helping any and for some reason my doctors seem to think I'm making it up or they just want to perscribe me more pain killers.
Is there anything else I can do on my own to combat back pain?

(Skip to the bottom for short version of answer)
I have a tongue ring? My orthodontist was very against me having my tongue pierced because of the inherent oral damage that comes along with having one... He reprimands me almost every time I go in for an appointment... I have THEEEE worst memory/ attention span ever... I lost my first retainer within 2 weeks of getting it and when I got my second one, lost THAT within 2 weeks again and it took me a good couple weeks to be able to find it... The thing is, even when it wasn't lost, I could never remember to put it in... And, yea... I could set an alarm on my phone or something to remind me to put it in before bed, but I never know when I'm going to fall asleep... So if I set the reminder to go off @ 9:00, I may or may not already be asleep and if I'm asleep, there's no chance in hell that I'll wake up to that.. It's just a really bad idea for me to have a removable retainer because I just can't be in charge of something that small.. I have ADD so it's really hard for me... I asked my orthodontist if I could just get permanent retainers (Oh, btw.. I only have my bottom braces off, not my top yet because he's a retard lol) because I'm going to end up fucking up my teeth (Which I've had braces on for FOUR YEARS, which is too much work/ time wasted for it all to be for nothing) because I'll never remember it... He (being the ass that he is..) told me no because I have my tongue pierced and that the barbell will hit the bar... Umm... I have a REALLY strong feeling that he only said that because he wants to force me to take the barbell out of my tongue.. which isn't gonna happen.. He's trying to find any reason to get me to get rid of it.. My tongue ring won't do anything to the permanent retainer... He's just being an asshole. The retainer is like super glued on the back of my teeth and my tongue ring won't even touch it. My mom really wants the permanent retainers too because she knows as much as I do that I'm just asking for trouble with a removable retainer.. She's the one who actually told me he was an asshole, so she agrees with me 100%... Ugh, from the sounds of my story I know it sounds like he is only doing what any other orthodontist/ dentist would do and he's just genuinely caring about my oral health... I can't explain it, but his mannerisms and just his demeanor, I guess, is so... hm Idk, very condescending- like, manipulative, and basically a jerk... It's not just me that feels this way, my mom also thinks the same thing.. So my question basically is:
Has anyone else had a problem where an orthodontist won't give you a permanent retainer because you had a tongue ring? Does anyone with a permanent retainer have a tongue ring? Have there been any complications? What should I do about my asshole orthodontist because I NEED this... like you don't understand I can't keep up with a removable retainer... Am I allowed to tell him to just do it since I'm paying for it? Should I just take out my barbell before my next appt and tell him that I'm taking it out and letting it close up so he'll give me my permanent retainers? (and then just take it out before all of my appointments here on out)??
lol, short version of the question wasn't exactly short, was it... D: sorry for the length, that's probably gonna turn a lot of people away from this question lol..
Anyways, thanks ahead of time for answering, I appreciate it <3

I heard a lot about teeth with braces. Like i know it generally does bad things, and that you should wait to get them taken off before bleaching or whitening them. But like for a while I didn't brush my teeth[i know disgusting] and i got a plaque buildup, and now I do brush my teeth constantly. But i have like the stains from where the plaque used to be. Before I had braces I had extremely white teeth, but i was wondering if i do end up waiting for my braces to be taken off, couldn't whitening still mess it up? like i was just wondering if in my circumstances if it's okay to whiten my teeth?
Thank Youuu.
Added reminder, i do NOT continue my sick habit of not brushing my teeth. gahh ew. i brush them every single day twice.
