What do I do with the teeth whitening trays after I take them out of my mouth? Should I rinse my teeth?

Is it okay to wear my retainers for the night? I brushed right before I put them in. Should I brush again?

Is this toothbrush ok for people who have retainers? or is it harmful that it can move teeth because of vibrations?

If you have gingivitis, will it go away?

Alright, lol I'm still in a little shock. I've never had anything wrong with my teeth before (well, I had braces and now i have retainers but whatever) and no cavities or anything. I went to the doctor and the hygienist said i had a slight case of gingivitis. I forgot to ask her if it will never go away. So, lol that's my question! Also, is there anything I can do to help, other than normally routine (brush, floss, rinse with non-alcohol mouthwash) Thanks!

Gingivitis and clear, invisalign like retainer?

Posted on January 2, 2011

Hey, I just got my braces off today (yay) but I have a little problem...gingivitis. When he took impressions so he could mold my retainer, my gums were inflamed. I came back later to get my retainers and I practiced taking the upper and lower ones off and putting back on. My gum has apparently swelled up even more since I got the retainers and now the lower is really hard to get on and off and really hurts as well. Is there any way I could reduce the swelling? I have to wear both 24 hours a day unless I'm eating or playing my flute.
its getting better but i have to wear my retainers for 24 hours a day unless im eating and i choose not to play the flute with them in, but I want to know how to actually reduce the swelling so i can fit the lower retainer on. I don't want to wear braces again lol. Lately ive been able to get it on and off ok but when i put it on it cuts my gums, when i take it out it feels like its ripping out teeth with it.
